Our younger daughter celebrated a birthday on May 5th. It wasn't quite what we've done in the past with all the restrictions in place. But we were so thankful to be in our cozy home, with good health to date, intact jobs and many tasks to do outside so we can get them done and enjoy the sun. I was sad it wasn't going to be the same kind of birthday she's had in the past but in the end, it was a really nice day. She had many well wishes on her social media, one of her little students who lives down the lane came by with still warm brownies and the sweetest picture he drew of the two of them, and later in the evening, we all surprised her with a family Zoom session. Our sons live in the big City next door and on the West Coast so she wasn't expecting any kind of visit. But with the online opportunity, it felt like we were all together. She was really touched. As we were as it was our younger son who set it up. So sweet! She loved her gifts and we even managed to sneak in to town to pick up a DQ ice cream cake ~ a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Blizzard Cake. Our first "fast food" take out food during the Pandemic. And it was sooooo good! She went to bed so happy at the end of the day and we spent time reflecting on her birth and her early years and who she is today. We are so blessed. The only sad moment of the day was realizing that the usual visit with my mom could not take place just yet. Still a really lovely, heart filled, love focused, family centred day.

Happy Birthday to her...
Lovely day, even under the circumstances.
Gentle hugs...
I am so thankful for social media during this time of isolation. We have been video chatting with my dad... he is 89 and lives with my brother. He's very active for his age and being quarantined has him going a little stir crazy! I'm glad your daughter had such a nice birthday.
