2nd Thanksgiving.

In honor of friends and family members
who reside in the United States, we made
a little bit of a Thanksgiving Dinner last
night. Chicken instead of turkey but so good!

Christmas Dinner.,

I seem to be missing a photo of the amazing turkey.
We found a Pinty's brand this year that had Bourbon
infused in the bird and it was so amazing! For our
Thanksgiving dinner with the same brand, it was a
herb and garlic version ~ just as amazing! Looking
forward to our leftovers for tonight. Probably the last
bits will be all gone. We had lovely peas with onion,
mushrooms, parsley, lemon and some creme de fraiche.
Warm, fresh buns with butter. Mashed herbed tatoes.
Stuffing, gin infused cranberries. And pickles! It took
a bit on Christmas day before we actually had any of
the deserts as we were all so full from dinner. Yum!!

Turkey Pizza.

On Friday night, we decided to treat
ourselves to pizza after a busy day
that included work, a doctor's visit,
and the last bit of shopping. Boston
Pizza has been advertising a Xmas
pizza that looked to yummy to pass
up. The sauce was alfredo, with sage
and rosemary, topped with turkey, onion
and stuffing, with cranberry sauce and
gravy on the side. Sounds "interesting"
but it was actually quite good. We had
seconds the next day and it was even
better. Not spicy nor salty as all. Just
a lovely flavor that filled us right up!

Turkey Pot Pie.

This looks a bit messy but it was soooo
good! Dh wanted to see if he could
create a Turkey Pot Pie recipe without
a recipe and he nailed it. Scrumptious.

Tiny Hens.

We will have our big Family Christmas Dinner
tomorrow night so for Christmas Day, we had
our traditional Cornish Game Hens instead of a
turkey dinner. With sweet potatoes and peas.

A light dinner that was tasty but not too filling.
We're all looking forward to turkey tomorrow!

Did you have a traditional turkey dinner?
If not, what did you have instead?

Turkey Soup!

Hi everyone!

After years of throwing out the turkey carcass after Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners, my dd talked me into trying to make homemade, from scratch, turkey soup. It was easy, tasty and a great way to use up our leftovers. I added in red onion, sweet potato, green peas, carrots and noodles. A bit of seasoning and some grated cheese on top and we now have a new favorite soup for winter. Now I'm looking forward to our next turkey dinner! Dreaming up new versions and a variety of ingredients to try out. YUM!

Many apologies for the shadowy picture.
I was trying to balance the bowl on my knees!

Have you made turkey soup from scratch before?
