My View.

While I provided a counselling session
today, I sat in our tiny living room and
loved the view of the Christmas tree in
the turret. Many pretty views that I love.

Undecorated Tree.

Our tree is not decorated just yet. We
discovered a couple of burnt out bulbs,
so it's on hold while we figure out the
size that we need to find to replace each.
Then we can go ahead and finish putting
all the decorations on. Looking forward
to the final look. The fireplace and the
railings will be next, then we'll be done!

How is your decorating coming along?
Do you put up a tree and trim your house?

It's Happening ....

Can you guess why our turret has been
emptied of the antique cupboard and
the writing desk? If you guess that it's
time to put up the Christmas tree, you
are correct! I love this day. We put on
music and decorate through the day. I
am missing we don't have snow yet but
that will come in time and we're in no
hurry for the white stuff. It can come as
late as it needs to. We are fine to wait!

Have you begun to decorate yet?
Do you love this time of year?

Capturing: Day 14.

Last week, we held our Candle Light
Memorial Service ~ the Virtual Edition.
We were live from my home and my
co-facilitator's home, separately. Our
grieving families joined in via Zoom.
It was lovely and heartfelt. I put all
the names of the babies and children
we were honoring on our Christmas
tree. Each family was then mailed
their little ornament and tag, along
with a card. A small gesture to bring
hope and healing for those who grieve.

St. Nick Visited.

St. Nick has arrived and left a number
of special gifts under our family tree.

Kids, siblings, grandparents, friends.
All will be gifted from our little tree.

It's just the 2nd year we've had this tree
grace our turret. I love it even more now.

"Brown paper packages tied up with string."
We couldn't resist this year to emulate the
song from "The Sound of Music." The first
movie I ever saw and a theatre production
we've both worked on locally. For this year,
we chose brown paper, with a few colors too.

Are all your plans and prep done now?
Has St. Nick visited your family home?

Tree Shopping.

Last week, before all the snow, we had to shop for
a little Christmas tree for our community preschool.

Dgs and I had fun getting our pictures taken at the
Ikea tree lot. A sweet tradition that he loves each year.

Dh lugged the tree into the car and then back
out again once we got to preschool to set up.

In the stand, watered and ready for the
branches to fall in to place. I'll take a
few more pictures once it's back in its
place, fully opened up and all decorated.

Behold, the Tree.

We start with a clean slate, an empty
spot in the turret and sturdy tree stand.

Add in the tree, plug it in and voila!
Christmas has arrived in the cottage.

A different view from the floor. Bright
and light. And waiting for decorations.

Looking in from the living room. Now,
where did we put the tree skirt last year?

Before the Gifts.

A few gifts that had been giving to us
around the tree. But this was before
our gifts were put out and well before
Santa Claus had arrived. Love our tree.
