Cozy Veranda.

A new item for our front veranda for
Fall. I plan to fill it with wheat grass.

The sun shining through the woods at
the right moment. Cozy, warm and sun!

From the Veranda.

The front veranda after the rain. So green.
Light, fresh air. I love sitting out here if
the rain is light. When the sun is about to
set. But never during a lightening storm!

Little Veranda.

Found this sweet pic today when I was
looking for ideas on how to create a little
veranda on our potting shed. I'm sure this
is the same shed. And we already have
all the spindles. Could be a fun Summer
project this year, if the virus is gone then.
We built a foundation for the shed and
created a veranda on the front. Now we
just need the spindles and railing. What
do you think? Would love your thoughts.

Late Summer.

Not quite ready for Fall decorations just
yet. I'm hanging on to the Summer we
truly didn't get but have tiny glimpses of
here and there. Hanging on as best I can!

Happy with our decision to mulch the flower
beds. Now we won't have to weed every day!

A lamp early in the morning to warm me
once I've come back home after dropping
kids off. There is something about pulling
up to our home with a light on that just
puts cozy memories in to my heart and
head. A warm welcome home every time.

Dreamy Veranda.

Isn't this the dreamiest veranda? We're trying to get ours to have this look. It will take time and energy but we're on it! The first thing we're doing is replacing our front steps. The builder did just what you see in this picture, putting them in between the two columns and then the railing attached to the deck floor down to the bottom step. However, that proved to create quite a "wobbly" railing whenever someone grabbed on to it as they walked up or down. So we're now going to lengthen the width of the steps to match up to the column and then re~attach the railings to the structure. Will not only be more functional but also look better. I never liked the look of the railing sitting several inches out from the column. Happy we've found a more appealing solution.

Once this initial part is done, we'll then concentrate on our front walk way, which right now is pea gravel and round blocks. Always meant to be temporary, so we need to come up with a better idea as it's low and the water in the Spring from the melt pools there. We're exploring all our options at the moment. We may add some flowy curtains in time.

We do have pretty pots on the steps, sweet wicker furniture and lovely sun that pours through the trees, leaving amazing shadows, creating a sense of calm. That part we don't need to improve on. I change out the wreath on our front door many times over the year, for the next season or celebration. Always fun to provide a new look for our visiting guests. We're almost there in creating our own version of a pretty, dreamy veranda. A reveal will happen.

Do you have a front veranda?
If you do, is it dreamy like this one?

Quiet Veranda.

Not a sunny evening but still my favorite
place to sit at night, when it's so quiet.

Frosty Veranda.

The veranda was not a spot we'd be
sitting out on today with the frost.

But it does add to the "Christmas in the
Country" feeling that surrounds us all day.

After the Rain.

Once the rain disappears, I love to venture
out to the front veranda to watch the new
blooms carry the raindrops. It's alway so
quiet after the rain, except for the little
drip drops that splatter to the puddles. A
relaxed place to be after the rainy storm.

And the After ....

Without all the garland, it's a much
tidier and "quieter" look for the veranda.

Now we have to bring up the bins from
the storage room for the Spring items.

The Before ....

Our veranda, waiting for Spring,
still decorated for Winter ....

Sorry to see our festive items go, but
excited for Spring and colorful decor.

Big Difference.

What a big difference just a few days
can make. Our world is now all white.

Did you get any snow this weekend?
Or is your world still brightly colored?

End of the Day.

A favorite spot to reflect after a busy day.
Sunny and quiet, the best place in my little world.

Halfway There.

Our builder's team started to build the railing
system last week. Despite our careful measuring,
and measuring, and measuring once again, they came
up short on the pieces we ordered from the company.

.
So now the front veranda is almost done, just some
minor finishing but the back porch will have to wait.
It will take about 6 weeks for the additional pieces
needed to arrive from the east coast. Frustrating!

But we still love the Colonial/Victorian look, even
on a rainy day, and even if it is only half done!!

Oooohhhh!!!!

Hi everyone!

I've fallen in love with old wicker and have collected a number of pieces for our future veranda. To date, we've bought 2 rockers (1 white, 1 green), 2 white chairs, 2 green chairs and some nice baskets to put plant pots in. I'd love to find a couch and a porch swing. Maybe a small table but waiting to see how much space we have once we're out in the country. Keeping my eyes open all the time for the next piece, look what I found today online, in our community:

Wouldn't this be a sweet addition to the veranda? I can just picture it, sitting off to the side, with a soft crocheted blanket gently laid across the interior. I've sent a note to the seller to see if anyone else has expressed interest. Fingers crossed I get a positive reply back! Wish me luck. Send a blessing!!
