Closed for Winter.

Officially, our bird bath is now closed
for the Winter. I feel bad for the many
birds who visit it during the Spring,
Summer and Fall. Nature has taken over!

Early Morning.

I love coming down in the morning once
the sun is up and capturing moments like
this. The sun creating light and warmth on
the walls. Frosty outside but warm inside.

Blogtober: Day 7.

Frost! The first bit but it melted an hour
after I took this shot. Too early. But pretty!

Winter Weather.

..... has been amazing so far. We have
not had any new snow since early in
December and this week, the bit we
have has been melting as the warmth
that crept in settled and hasn't yet left.
We have had fog and frosty mornings
but the sun, the light wind and the air
has kept our Winter so nice. Many days
I have my jacket undone and the other
day, I wore shoes to work instead of
my big Sorels. I'm sure at some point
we'll have some fresh snow and maybe
a day of rough driving. But for now,
we'll embrace what has been gifted to
us for the start of 2023. I hope where
you are dear friends the weather is great!

Frosty and Foggy.

We woke up yesterday to the most amazing
hoar frost, which is still present today. A
quick trip in to town to meet a realtor, see
my mom and look at new phones meant
we left home in the sun but quickly it did
disappear and we were suddenly engulfed
in thick fog that made driving challenging.
These photos don't even really show how
dense it was. It felt like we were driving in
a tunnel. We usually talk or listen to music
while we drive but our car was silent all
the way into town. A bit scary though pretty!

Evening Fire.

It was a bit of a gamble to put a fireplace in our
master bedroom when we built our little cottage
in the big woods. But I'm so thankful we did go
int his direction. So cozy on a cold and frosty night!

Frosty Back Garden.

Our deck covered in snow. The lowest
spot is just 2 feet off the ground and
the snow is now up to that spot. We'll
have to move some of the snow soon.

I love fresh snow before footprints
and the deer trek over the landscape.
The snow fell before we could get
the rink filled, so skating is on hold.

Frosty Afternoon..

Took a few shots before we skated
on the rink today. Isn't it beautiful?

Frosty House.

A shot of our little cottage,
covered with hoar frost.

We love our house so much and
feel so privileged to live here.

Frosty Walk.

After lunch on Boxing Day, we
went for a nice little frosty walk.

Dh showing our little guy where
the deer often disappear to at night.

Bringing back our garbage bin from
the end of our little lane. Nice helper.

Blue Snow.

I shot this on a frosty day when the snow
was crisp and the sun made it all blue.

Frosty Garden Door.

Our little garden door that goes out to
the back deck. Frosty and very, very cold.

Frosty Departure.

We bid a fond farewell to our old Honda CRV yesterday as it was driven away by the nice guys from the dealership who came out to get it running after it wouldn't start on Thursday. It delayed the paperwork and we had to wait until today to pick up the new car. Worth the wait though. And we're very impressed with the service to date. They took back the old car,  no questions, no penalties, free and clear. And sent out the service guys yesterday to boost then drive the car back to the dealership. Today, they sent the shuttle to pick us up so we wouldn't have to drive a car in and then drive two cars back. Didn't even have to ask, they offered, we accepted. Felt like a celebrity walking in as they know us so well now. The paperwork was seamless, though they did discover a calculation error so we ended up with an even lower payment then we successfully negotiated to start with. Drove us over to registries to finalize the government documents, then back to the dealership to go over the new car head to toe and an hour later we were off for our first official drive. Piece of cake! Very much worth the time and the effort to do our homework, then use a free program to find out the invoice price, start the negotiations early and low, and don't back down with what we want. Works every time. Now we can enjoy and not think about numbers and time frames and features. All done in time for the New Year!

Out My Window.

 This is what I see!

A frosty landscape that is so pretty.
Almost eery but beautiful too.

I worry this tree is going to fall over any day.
But it doesn't. Inspiring that it's so strong.
