Blogtober: Day 17.

A good book and a warm cup of tea.
The best way to end a lovely, cold day!

Blogtober: Day 13.

When we stop to take a break from all
the setting up we've done at our new
centre, the tea comes out! And this
new one we're trying has quotes on the
tea tag. Can't remember what this one
said, but it inspired us all to get working!

With My Tea.

A favorite snack on a cold Winter's day.
Warm tea and savory popcorn. As we
inch closer to Spring, the snow keeps
falling. Next week will be above normal
temperatures, so hoping we'll have some
melting take place. I keep dreaming of
green buds on trees and tiny blooms on
plants. Dreaming is free, even with snow!

Cucumber Recipe.

I'm posting this for all to enjoy but also
because I wanted to "hold" it somewhere
I could find it later when I want to make
it for our tea one day, in the future, soon.

Enjoy!

Healing Tea.

I love tea all year long but on a crisp Winter afternoon, with clouds hiding the sun and snow on it's way, tea is the best remedy for anything! We did some work outside on our rink yesterday and it was pretty breezy, which made it feel a lot colder than it really was. Once we were done, it was lovely to come in and change in to dry clothes and then have a cup of healing tea. Definitely worth the time out in the wind!

Blogtober: Day 29.

Last week, on one of the cooler days when we still had a bit of snow on the ground, I started chatting with a friend online and when we realized we had a lot of catching up to do, I made a cup of tea and settled in for a good time. The tea warmed my body and the conversation, my heart. I so miss talking with people in person. I love that each day I get to connect with my staff and clients on the phone or by Zoom. I'm glad we're all safe and I have a comfortable cozy cottage to work in. But I do miss conversing face to face, live, in person. I know Covid is continuing and we have to be patient. In time, when we can be together again, I will cherish even more those moments and those conversations.

This week was supposed to be quiet but it's turned in to a crazy, hectic week. All good stuff, just a lot of it in a short time span. Today, I have a 3 hour webinar with the leadership team at my hospice. I've only been a Director for a short time, so I'm very excited to attend this first event for me as a member of this team. We're small (4 of us plus our ED) but we're mighty! A short break to eat some lunch and then I have several counselling sessions, then the kid gets off the bus, a bit of play time, dinner and then a baby loss support group meeting tonight. Tomorrow is finally a bit quieter though I do have 2 grants that are due that I'll be pressing send in the morning. Appointment with my Naturopath in the afternoon for my 1st of 4 shots to boost my immunity against any flu bugs that may be present this Winter. Looking forward to a quiet night tomorrow with NO meetings. Saturday is busy with my kids grief program and counselling, then it's Halloween and we're all ready for the little goblins. Sunday I hope will be a true day off that we can just enjoy and relax! Working away on my Christmas shopping so we're ready in case our community gets shut down again. Cases are rising, so we're hoping to stay ahead of the game again. Only way to do it.

Wishing you a beautiful Fall day!

Comforting Tea.

More pictures until my phone is
all better from one of my favorite
artists, Susan Wheeler. I love her
whimsical creations. This one is
a favorite and so timely as I'm a
tea lover and tea has become a
very comforting tool for me this
season as we all battle this virus.

I woke up with a small case of the
sniffles (used only 4 kleenexes) and
have a sore throat, so out came my
throat tea. It's been a cold couple of
days, overcast and even a few flakes
fell from the sky on Sunday. This
made me cozy up with my warmed
up blankets and my soothing tea for
my throat. It's now 4 a.m. and I'm
really wanting another cup but will
wait a bit so I don't wake up my dear
family with the sound of the teapot.

Do you love to drink tea?
What is your favorite flavor?

Tea Boy.

He was so curious about the tea we
have when friends are over. So curious!

I invited him to join us the other night
and he loved it. A tiny cup with mostly
milk and sugar, but he said the flavor
was "amazing" and asked for more.
We now have another tea lover in our
house, at a very young age. Yeah!!

Breakfast Tea.

One of the perks we received from
staying at the B & B was breakfast.

The menu of tea choices was amazing.
We chose a rose inspired flavor. Lovely!

The setting was so cozy. Lots of pictures to
show the incredible history of the mansion.

Linens and high ceilings and pretty
window coverings and wood furniture.

A small but bright enclosed porch for
extra seating and stained glass windows.

We put a few of these light plates in our new
house and I loved seeing them in the B & B.

Our view included glimpses of the
harbor and the windy and choppy sea.

Breakfast served like afternoon tea. It
included quiche, scones, turkey, salmon,
french toast, butter, maple syrup and a
bit of fruit. I already at that before the shot.

Pineapple with cream cheese and an
edible flower. So good to start our meal.

A picture at the end, when we were full but not
in any rush to leave our table and our view.

Loved our waiter Carlos, who has the
most incredible story of coming to
America from Italy. He even worked
on the Disney Cruise Line. Great man!

In the Fog ....

,,,, at the cottage on the cliff.
It was silent and very grey.

We couldn't see the mountain.
We couldn't see the ocean.

The quiet was unnerving.
The mist and fog was creepy.

It lasted all day long.
By night it had drifted.

We had a bit left by bed time.
And the next day it was sunny.

Doesn't this look like it
should be in a movie?

Dh trying to capture the look of
the fog in the trees on the cliff.

What did I do while he
played photographer?

Made a big pot of Irish tea
to last us all thru the afternoon.

Healing Tea.

My Naturopath made a special tea
for my often raw and achy throat.

Full of flowers and herbs, it's so pretty
in my tea canister and in the tea infuser.

It's not as pretty once it's ready for my tea cup
but it's lovely on my throat and tasty for my tongue.

The Power of Tea.

I'm stuck at home, lounging on the couch,
watching the world outside the windows
pass me by today. Feeling sorry for myself!
But the warm tea and sweet cookie helps.

Nasty bronchitis has invaded my wee body.
Knocking me down and making me rest.
Getting paperwork done, in between the
naps. Thankful it's a quiet week for tasks.

How are you feeling this season so far?
Do you find tea makes everything better?

It's a Hot Tea kind of day!

Hi everyone!

I'm not a coffee drinker. I hate the taste of milk ~ unless it's chocolate! Beer is not on my agenda. Wine has to be really chilled and a certain kind for me to sip it. Pop hurts my throat. And water, well, don't get me started on the awful tasting tap water we have in our region. Yuck! Ugh! No way!!

So what do I drink, you ask?

I love lemonade. And limeade. Cranberry juice. Apple juice. Mike's Hard Lemonade. Or Mike's Limeade! See a pattern there? I will tolerate bottled water if it's flavored. My favorite is the Vitamin Water line. Or water that has been purified and chilled in my yoga inspired water bottle.

But my favorite drink, in the winter, is "good old fashioned, make a chilled body warm, a teary day bright and anytime comfort is needed" tea! Who can resist yummy tea?

Isn't this tea pot sweet?
Sadly, it's not mine!

I have a lovely tea pot collection.
But they are all packed now.

Except for this favorite one, used daily:

A warm cup of tea on a cold Monday afternoon.

My tea pot and cup sit waiting each day.

Are you a tea drinker?
What is your favorite flavor?

A Cup of Tea.

A Cup of Tea

When the world is all at odds
And the mind is all at sea
Then cease the useless tedium
And brew a cup of tea.

There is magic in its' fragrance,
There is solace in its' taste;
And then laden moments vanish
Somehow into space.

And the world becomes a lovely thing!
There's beauty as you'll see;
All because you briefly stopped
To brew a cup of tea.
