Bed of Lettuce.

Snuggly and warm, tucked in a bed
of lettuce. Sweet bunnies and full moon.

Under the Eaves.

Watching "Escape to the Country" while we
are tucked in to bed, under the eaves, waiting
for the Summer rain to start again. And looking
at sweet cottages for sale in the U.K. Dreaming!

The garden is becoming greener by
the moment. Loving all the scents!

Festival Eats!

Sometimes we forget to eat when planning our annual Outdoor Music Festival. Or we eat "easy" meals. Tonight's creation: short and sweet cheesy garlic fingers and caesar's salad. And sweet lemonade in my new water bottle from work. Isn't it sweet? The water bottle, I mean, not the dinner. Though that was sweet too! Next week: back to regular meals ....

Right Here. Right Now.

What I'm thankful for .... my guy, who we celebrated today for Father's Day. He is of course NOT my dad, but the papa to all our kids. What an amazing dad he turned out to be!

What I'm smelling .... strawberry rhubarb pie ~ the dessert that dh chose. So good .... it will be hard to not have more!

What I'm hearing .... the tv ~ watching an old movie "The Courtship of Eddie's Father."

What I'm crafting .... our granddaughter's dollhouse. Still ....

What's on my mind .... our music festival. Just 5 more days!

Words to live by .... see the quote above!

Wishing you a beautiful week ahead!

Oliver the Cat.

Oliver the cat is back! He settled in a couple of
years ago. We never see him in the Winter, just
through the rest of the seasons. We're not even
sure if Oliver is a he but we're thankful he's
chosen our cottage and our acreage as a great
place to hang out to catch mice. Thanks Oliver!

Right Here. Right Now.

What I'm wearing ....  my new Summer dress from Old Navy. Short and sweet!I ordered it for our trip over 3 weeks ago but we got home yesterday. And guess when my order arrived. Yes, late yesterday. No worries though as I had enough great clothes to wear while on our trip and now I have a new dress to look forward to wearing to work.

What I'm reading .... "The Last Bookshop in London" by Madeline Martin. Four chapters. Then on to the next book.

What's happening in my kitchen .... dinner and cleaning done.

What's outside my window .... dark skies with heavy rain.

What I'm thankful for .... a cozy cottage on a dark, rainy day.

What I'm smelling .... the rain, falling outside the cottage.

What I'm hearing .... the rain, falling on the roof of the cottage. I love this sound and find comfort that our garden is lapping up every drop and the forest is getting greener.

What I'm crafting .... our granddaughter's dollhouse. Still ....

What's on my mind .... our music festival. Just 12 more days!

Words to live by .... "It's not how others make us feel that is important in life, but how we make others feel."

Wishing you a beautiful week ahead!

My Cozy Office.

This space that I wasn't sure at first would be a good
move has become a sanctuary for me, as well as for
my clients and even our staff and volunteers. Anyone
who comes in to this space immediately comments
on how peaceful and light it is, which is the key when
our conversations are so dark and heavy. I'm off work
this week but when I'm back, I may move my bookcase
over a bit and put the chair by the window. Right now,
it is in kind of an awkward spot. I'll see if I can make
this change without much work. Loving my cozy office.

Do you have an office space you love?
Or for you, is it just a space to work in?

Pink Blossoms.

Our Village house is on the market and I'm loving that the pink blossoms on the tree beside the path to the front door opened up this week. So pretty and light. I'm going to do a little digging around to see if I can split this tree as it's gotten quite large. Rather than tear it apart, or prune it right down, I'll see if we can split it instead. Lovely sweet tree for the acreage. If we can't split it, we'll visit the greenhouse and see if we can find the same species there.

Last week was beyond great but this week has been hard ~ working through each item on my list. Challenges are to be expected and I always dread when they come up but feel great after once I can work through the pieces. Excited about the Summer ahead and looking forward to our music festival, landscaping the last bits of our land and planning our Disney trip along the way. Hard work all around!

Long work day today but shorter tomorrow ~ thankful for this as our list of tasks for the Festival fills in any open spaces in the evening. So I'm going to enjoy a bit of shopping with dh tomorrow afternoon while we're out and about until it's time to head home and tackle the list. Hope your Friday is amazing and you have many plans for a great weekend!
