When we walked through the trees

 on Christmas Day, we realized we can

see the front of the cottage. I love this

pic showing our forest that surrounds us.

art studio we spend so much time in. I

love our cottage. It's been such a lovely 

place to call home. Comfy and warm.

On a Walk.

Before the frost. Out on a walk, a shot of

the cottage on a sunny but chilly afternoon.

Night Cottage.

I often wonder what our cottage looks like from

the little lane we travel down to get home. We

don't typically see much of this sweet view as our

entrance and driveway are on the left hand side.

It was lovely the other night to stop on our walk

and take a picture of this view. We are currently

thinking about adding a secondary entrance through

the trees on the left so guests would see more of

the front of the house. But it's not a cheap expense,

so it's something we'll really have to consider. Our

guests have a lovely drive in and then once parked,

they start to walk along the path and the house

kind of blossoms as the walk continues. And we

are in the middle of creating a "Secret Garden"

theme between those trees and the house. Lots to

consider as we work on the landscape of our home.

The 1st Walk.

 

Our little guy wanted to go visit our
neighbors children down the lane the
other day after we got home from school.
Off he trekked after a quick phone call.

He was gone for about 1.5 hours and then

we called down to say we'd come pick him

up. But he still insisted on walking home.

That's our little cottage on the right side.

You can just see the dormer window in the

art studio. I so love this view. And him ....

Frosty Walk.

After lunch on Boxing Day, we

went for a nice little frosty walk.

Four healthy grown children. Two

unexpected stillbirths. Six early

miscarriages. Longed for. Loved.

we remember Birkley, Cabriola,

Cambria, Beau, Cree and Bentley.

Sunny Leaves.

We feel so lucky that our Walk ended

up on a very warm and sunny day.

Remembering our babies was so much

easier in the sun, instead of the snow.

The Path.

Our families who have lost a baby

during pregnancy or anytime after

birth have a long, hard road ahead

of them. We hope to make it lighter.

A path to walk together, a journey

to share, a love that aches, empty arms.

Horse Walk.

 With warmer weather, we love to take

walks in the evening to explore our area.

When our grandson tags along, he calls

this our "Horse Walk" because he always

leads us to the property up on the hill

that has two horses that come to visit.

One beautiful brown horse and a dark

black one in the back. They trot up to

see us every time. I always seem them

when we drive around the bend but it's

fun to actually see them up close and

have a few moments to "chat" with them.

More Filming!

 On the day of our big event, which I promise I

will write about in another post one day. more

filming took place. But this time, it was at the

actual event & all outside. So much fun.

Our Master of Ceremonies (MC) was one of our

news anchors. She does an amazing job of reporting.

My dear friend S joined us for this shot. She is beyond

amazing & actually keeps me on track every day!

Peeking in Windows.

We often go for walks at the end of the day 

in our neighborhood. I love to go at dusk, 

when everyone has put on a few lights inside. 

A peek inside into the life of a stranger.

It seems almost naughty to be so curious

about what goes on, from house to house,

family to family. Naughty but oh so

addicting to peer into someone's life.

As we walk or drive by, we sometimes feel 

like we're intruding on the innocent. 

In reality, if someone was not in favor of 

those of us who walk & take a peek at the

same time, sturdy blinds would work well to

protect the privacy of those all involved.

I had the opportunity to be interviewed on TV today, so I graciously said yes and am so glad I did. The emails and registrations are poring in and the donations as well. Such a sad and difficult subject but we're so excited we can promote the work we do and provide a beautiful, healing day for all to remember their precious babies, together. Once I can figure out how to download the clip, I'll add it in here.
