New Chair.

The little desk in our guest room was

missing something ~ a lovely chair. I

remembered we had put one of the tall

chairs out in the garage for storage. It

ended up being the perfect fit and I do

love the extra green color mixed in now.

Desk View.

Each day when I sit at my desk, I have

big 4 beautiful windows to look out of. It

can be distracting at times but I love my

view from desk. A pretty sight most days.

My favorite, sturdy mug with warm tea on

a very cold, very windy and very rainy day.

The lace curtains would be still, then whip

around until the breeze would stop and calm.

I have to figure out what to put above the

vintage dresser. More pictures? A shelf?

The window seat is going to have a small

makeover this Summer. Looking for to the

change, as tiny as it will be. Sometimes the

smallest changes have the biggest impact!

Organized.

I took some time out of our worry filled day to tidy

up the drawers in my vintage and sweet writing desk.

Two big drawers and they hold a ton of stationary.

I love writing letters and giving cards so this space

has worked out really well so far. Yesterday, I did

find more stationary that will now need to fit in ....

Turret Desk.

I love writing at this desk, on quiet days,

when everyone else is at work or busy.

The sun right now is not too hot, so I

can sit for quite a while. Once Summer

hits, I'll have to move but for now, I am

loving the view and the sunny warmth.

The Secretary.

Now my favorite part of our little

cottage, the secretary says "home!"

It is solid, vintage, welcoming, quiet,

engaging and so comfortable. I loved

writing our Christmas cards here. And

I often will blog in this spot, or write

letters to my overseas pen pals. Plan

meals. Look over budgets. Make cell

phone calls. Dream. Remember. Ache.

Reflect. Plan. Execute. Reflect. Chill.

Alcove Desk.

When we were building our new home, we

realized that the space under the stairs was

going to be totally a wasted space. So we

designed a desk alcove so that we had one

more spot to write and keep life organized.

I think this turned out pretty good, don't you?

End of Day Desk.

Used quite a bit today, with a lovely

view to the outside world but now

the day is done and everything is

back to be in it's place and tidy.

My Writing Desk.

I have a couple of work places

and desks in our house. Each has

it's own purpose and it is lovely

to not have to put everything away.

My writing desk is currently in our

great room, under the big window.

Holding a collection of my favorite books,

the scenery can be distracting during the day.

But at night, when it's pitch black outside,

I can turn on the tiny lamp and write to

my hearts' content. The chair is comfy,

the light just right, the height perfect.

My favorite pens, colorful pencils, piles of

preschool registrations for the Fall, a bank

stamp for making deposits, a stapler, writing

notes, my lamp and the stack of my books.

Full of possibilities and ideas. Books 

to read, to dream, to become inspired.

And a tiny lamp to provide a soft ambience.

My writing desk is a new favorite spot.
