Silence.

When she goes quiet, it's not
because she has nothing to say.

Her silence isn't emptiness ~ it's full.

Full of words too heavy to speak.
Full of emotions too raw to unravel.
Full of pain that feels impossible
to put into sentences.

She's tired.

Tired of explaining herself over and over again.
Tired of being misunderstood.
Tired of holding it all together when no one sees
the cracks forming beneath her surface.

Her silence isn't indifference ~ it's exhaustion.

It's the weight of carrying battles no one else can see.
It's the struggle of fighting wars within herself while
pretending everything is fine on the outside.

Sometimes, the deepest battles are fought in silence.

The loudest cries go unheard because
 they never leave her lips.

So if you notice her retreating into quiet,
don't mistake it for peace.

Ask her what she needs.
Give her space ~ but also let her know you're there.
Because behind her silence lies a heart that's
breaking under the pressure of keeping it all inside.

And maybe, just maybe, she doesn't need
 solutions or advice right now.

Maybe she just needs someone to
sit with her in the stillness.

To acknowledge the storm without
demanding an explanation.

Because her silence isn't
weakness ~ it's survival.

And sometimes, the bravest thing a woman
can do is stay silent when the world
expects her to speak.

Canada's First Annual Truth and Reconciliation Day.

๐Ÿงก  Today, September 30th, our country paused
to reflect and honor every small child who was
removed from their ancestry home and sadly
moved to a government run residential school.
We remember all the children who never came
home and those who survived but have lived
with decades of horrific memories. As more and
more mass graves are discovered, we feel shame
and anger, horror and disbelief. All of our actions
today will begin the healing process but can never
change what was done. We can only learn, and
move forward. Today, we hold broken hearts. ๐Ÿงก

Achy.

Life is full of sweet moments and difficult times. Most of the time. there seems to be a balance of the good and then a bit of bad thrown in. I often think the bit of bad is so we appreciate the good that much more. Right now, I have a bit more than just a bit of bad .... lots of stress, lots of worry. The god thing is I'm working through each bit, slowly, piece by piece. It's really the only way I can get through it all. Tedious and not what I'd like to be doing on such beautiful summer days. But the reality is, the stress and worry doesn't go away until the things I have to deal with right now are solved. Something I've learned from many years of trial and error.  Many, many years!

The downside to all of this is that I'm finding I'm holding my stress in my body. And for me, this means I hurt from head to toe. Ouch!! My toes hurt, my hair hurts, my fingers, my jaw, my back, everything hurts! I ache and it's not very pleasant. I know once life settles again, that the hurt, the aches will subside. But until then, I have to just keep pushing through to get to my final goal of peace and no worries again. Can't wait to get there!

Does your body hold your stress?
How do you deal with the aches?

Feeling Alone.

A warning before you read my words today. I've been hurt by words from someone in my life and my post today is reflective of my feelings. I chose a picture that is exactly how I feel .... incredibly sad, extremely hurt and frightfully alone. A fair warning so you can move on if you need to. I respect that. I'm not looking for sympathy. I just need a safe place to express these feelings so bear with me as I work through them. Thank you in advance.

I hurt someone yesterday. Not on purpose and not with intent. A short conversation and a quick laugh with someone else was translated by text to the individual. Who then texted me in anger. Truly a misconstrued experience but even with  my heart felt apology and intense explanation, there is now silence. As I realized I needed to talk out my feelings to heal, in looking around, there was and is no one to help me through this. I'm caught in the middle of wanting to fix this mess but having no back up, no support, no direction and plain and simple, no one. How did I get to this point in my life and not realize I truly have no one? I started to talk with my dh but he immediately went to the "this is what you have to do" phase as many males will. Bless his little heart. But that mentality actually shut me down. I can't approach those who work with me as the individual in question is loved by all. And of course, I need to keep this as professional as I can. But boy does my heart hurt. I couldn't sleep and today is a big day in getting the last few items addressed by our builder. Now I'm terrified that with my lack of sleep, I'll miss something or say something incorrectly.

To be surrounded on a daily basis by a big family, two different work teams (I have two different contracts), the public we serve, and family and friends, doesn't make sense to feel this alone. I work in a field of helping others overcome their difficult experiences. I counsel on a daily basis. And yet I'm lost in how to help myself when life gets tough. Interesting, isn't it?

For a brief moment last night, I thought "what the hell, no one would even miss me if I wasn't here!" Yes, a true pity party. I know it's not the solution to end my life because the hurt is so great. But I'm tired, I'm confused, I'm humiliated, I'm numb, I'm backed in to a corner with no solution and most of all, I'm totally and utterly alone.

What do you do when life is hard and you feel alone?
How do you work through tough times and find peace?

I Hurt.

It's crunch time! We have just a short time before
our new house will be ready. Won't you be happy
when we finally move & I can stop talking about
the build process? Of course, I may then launch
into the next phase of the new house: landscaping.
Until then, we have lots to do. I'm thankful that
we've been working on our move since before
we started the build. But now we're speeding
everything up to get the old house sold & packed
up. For the last two weeks, we've been painting,
packing & purging. I'm so tired of the whole
process. Tonight, this is how I feel inside:

And below is how my body feels: I hurt from
head to toe. Everything aches. Pain in spots I
didn't know could hurt. Everywhere. Ouch!

The only thing that helps is knowing that
all this work is getting us one step closer
to the country. Every box, every donation
bag, every paint stroke .... worth the effort.

Just wish it didn't hurt so much!!
