Educator Gifts.

Because we are so honored to have the most amazing

team members at our centre, it was important to both

of us that we celebrate and honor them. For our first

day of operation, we gifted them each a journal, a

key and a star, representing memories they can write

about, the key that they hold to each child's heart,

and the star because they are all "rock stars!" It was

fun to watch them open their gifts. We are thankful!

First Snow!

As we settle in to our new home, our

new centre, we've joked about the first

snow that would soon arrive. In 2023,

the snow didn't arrive until December.

But this year, after a meeting in our

kitchen that is still waiting for a real

window, I came around the corner

to my office and squealed out loud!

Snow was falling in big flakes. It was

not sticking on the ground but falling

so lightly from the sky. My team all

started coming to see and we had a

bit of a laugh that we were so excited

to see the "white stuff!" We know it

will soon truly arrive and stay, and

then we won't be so excited to see it

anymore. For now, it made the day

feel warm and cozy inside and gave

us the chance to do more bonding

over our heaping cups of sweet tea!

Blogtober: Day 16.

Tried a new cookie recipe this week.

Rice Krispie Chocolate Chip Cookies.

They were a hit with both my team

and the family. We'll make this again!

The Wedding.

My dh's boss was married in June,

the week before the conference we

attend each year was held. He did

invite the entire company to come

the week before to celebarte and

it was an amazing experience. We

had to promise to not share photos

of the bride, groom and ceremony,

so I've chosen just a few from the

evening itself. This was in Vegas

and definitely not a "cheesy" day

at all. The venue was off the Strip

and so elegant and inviting. The

ceremony was meaningful, the

food was so good and memories

were made for all who attended.

Valentine's Sweets.

Treating my staff has always been a

special thing for me to do. I'm sure I

get this from my mom who loved to

have treats in her office. Seeing them

smile when little gifts show up or a

special day is honored makes it so easy!

Gold!!

Our little guy, who is not so little anymore, won

gold two weekends ago with his hockey team.

We came out to watch with dd, along with our

older daughter on the right, who also manages

his team. He's the goalie and I love how his

team is so supportive, even if he lets a goal in.

They played so well and coming out on top with

a gold medal was a very sweet and big moment.

Thrifted Gift.

One of my staff members gifted me

this sweet dish for my desk. She knows

my style and knows I love thrifted items.

 I feel beyond blessed to have my team!

Lunch Guests.

Last week, I was invited, along with two

other co~workers, to present to a group of

retired Social Workers at the University.

It was a great opportunity to spread more

awareness about our hospice and our

programs. And look at the feast for lunch!

Holiday Gifts.

I love to spoil my team at Christmas

time, even on a budget. Bath bombs

were the order of the day this year. I

love to make rather than buy if I can.

Tiny ornaments with silver stars inside. And

tags made with my new Cricut. With hearts.

For my lead teacher "Be Kind" ~ something

she teaches all her kids and even the parents!

All wrapped up and ready to be presented.

Christmas Lunch.

We had an amazing Christmas Lunch

yesterday at my hospice for the staff.

I made my broccoli salad and there was

not much left at the end of the afternoon.

So easy and so yummy! I'll have the last

little bit today for lunch. And then it's

all gone for now. Might make more for

Christmas Dinner next week. Mmmm!
