Right Here ........ Right Now.

Not our window, but what the ones in our cottage
are supposed to look like. And I liked the view ....

I love reading Debi's post each week on Sundays called "Right Here. Right Now" and asked if it was okay to join in and she said yes! So here's my version for this week. Follow hers on her blog: Barefoot Mom

What I'm wearing .... my baby doll pj's. No sleeves. Short and sweet and very cool when it's warm at night!

What I'm reading .... all my favorite blogs for now but I'm almost finished Mary Trumps book.

What's happening in my kitchen .... dishes are done, groceries unpacked, fridge cleaned out, recycling done. Hope to make muffins tomorrow the fresh blueberries we bought today but we'll see how hot it is.

What's outside my window .... a gang of coyotes howling.

What I'm thankful for .... our health and our little cottage in a beautiful spot to live in.

What I'm smelling .... the candle that was lit earlier. The Fall scent is still in the air.

What I'm hearing .... dh is watching "Ocean's Thirteen."

What I'm crafting .... dollhouses, dollhouses, dollhouses ... too many now to keep up! I might have to retire from my job just to have time to work on all of them!

What's on my mind .... worries around Fall, back to school, Covid, our cottage ....

Words to live by .... "Don't worry until the worry is in your face .... " From a dear friend who is no longer on this Earth and truly never worried until the moment she had to!

Thanks for visiting.

Have a beautiful week!

Twelve Days.

The number of days off of work I
during Spring Break this year:

And what have I been doing on this
lovely time off? Let me share ....

* organized my office on my last day
* created a "to do" list to work on
* meet with our landscape artist
* meet with our builder and trades
* empty boxes from our art studio
* learn how to make chalk paint
* chalk paint an old hutch and drawers
* learn how to use wax on furniture
* organize master bedroom closet
* chalk paint mirrors and small items
* help daughter buy a new car
* set time with our gate guy

Things on my list to complete still:

* gather all the documents for our taxes
* set up time with our accountant
* move boxes then paint the art studio
* paint then reorganize the mud room
* paint then reorganize the laundry room
* paint them organize the storage room
* take bottles into the bottle depot
* revise chapters in my book project
* visit with a dear friend next week
* learn how to make a bracelet
* put wicker furniture on veranda
* organize one section of the garage

I had 12 items at first, completed those and
added 12 more. A very focused time off but
so productive and I'm so grateful for this
gift. Holidays from 2016, so I still have just
over 4 weeks left to take off for 2017. Love
my boss and my organization. Worth the work.

Did you have time off during Spring Break?
If so, what did you do with your time?

Revisiting My List.

Last Sunday, I promised to do all the tasks below.
All were completed except the last two. It was
too muddy outside to put the wicker away but
it is now safely stored under the veranda for
the winter. And setting up the room for me to
paint took place on Thursday. A blog post will
soon follow to explain our busy week that took
me away from blogging and painting rooms.

* long shower to easy my achy body
* unload the dishwasher from last night
* gather the ingredients to make a pie
plant our spring bulbs in the warm earth
* send an email to a group I belong to
* create a scrumptious family dinner
set up the room that I will paint tomorrow
* put the wicker furniture in to storage

I Tried.

But I failed.

I was going to write a blog
post today, inspiring and
colorful. However, my
body had other plans. The
sweet picture above does
depict what I ended up doing.

How was your busy day?
Did a nap disrupt your task list?

Sunday Night Chit Chat!

It has been quite the busy fall already. So busy, I haven't had a chance to join in on Carla's Sunday Night Chit Chat. Here's my contribution for tonight:

Reading: The Virgin Cure by Ami McKay. I ordered this last spring with a whole stack of books and am just getting to it now. So far, it's intriguing!

Listening to: My husband's sleepy breath as he falls asleep after a busy, crazy and productive weekend.

Watching: The Mentalist. Not paying attention like I usually do. Catching up on blogs at the same time has made me a bit distracted to follow the story line. Or maybe it's just not the most interesting episode!

Cooking/Baking: I made homemade Chicken Tortellini Soup tonight with Parmesan Bread. Yum!

Accomplished this week: All the fall yard work, just in time for the snow that fell overnight. Organized garage. Completed paperwork for our centre. Continued to recover from pneumonia and rested often, without guilt. Ordered 6 Christmas gifts today. Hung up the outside Christmas lights and set our our deer family, the lamp post and the big Angel. Now we're ready!

This week: Hope to finish up the paperwork that is sitting in piles in both my art studio and the library. Driving me crazy, so I'm determined to get it sorted out and tucked away. Or shredded!

Thankful for today: A husband who loves to shop, good food, great sales and warm hot chocolate on a cold frosty day.

Bonus Question: Am I looking forward to Halloween? No, as our community is not providing alternative activities this year and the predicted weather is warm and snow less, so we may have more kids at our door than we are used to. Need to buy candy on a tight budget. Hate having leftovers, as we might be tempted to eat it all yet hate having not enough.

Sigh.

Have a great week. And hop over to Carla's to see what everyone else has shared.
