Luck of the Irish.

I LOVE St. Patrick's Day, not just because so much green (my favorite color) is all around us. My mom's ancestral family is directly from Ireland and I wish we could visit one day to connect to family we've never met. My great grandparents both arrived by boat, across the ocean, as young teens in 1905. Two different boats, from two different communities, two different families, and yet somehow, they arrived in the same Province and found each other. I have often wondered how scary and yet exciting that journey would have felt. I wish I had more details so might ask my auntie if she remembers any other things about this special story. Such good luck that they somehow became connected. Can you imagine if they didn't meet? Our family might look so different. I might not even be here! Truly "Luck of the Irish!"

Do you have any Irish blood in you?

St. Patrick's Day.

My great grandparents arrived in
Canada from Ireland in 1905, on
separate boats, and from separate
county's. They found each other
and married and here we are. I'm
really not sure how much Irish
this makes me but I'll take it! A
couple of years ago, I was gifted
a copy of the ship manifesto that
show their names, ages, and where
they were travelling from. I'd like
to frame this but want it on better
paper, like a sweet parchment. I
am so thrilled to have this little
piece of history that shows where
our family came from. Our rings
are Claddagh's, and now we have
new Celtic Knot ones. When I
finish up my tattoos on my arms,
I'm going to add in something to
represent my Irish Heritage. I
will reveal once it's completed.

Happy St. Patrick's Day to everyone.
Hope your day was green and amazing!

St. Patrick's Day.

We are all officially working from home
as now, so our St. Patrick's Day was not
a huge affair. A bit of Irish spread out
through the house. Pizza for our dinner.

Found these sweet salt and pepper shakers
at the Antique Mall a few years ago. The
postcard as well. But the Celtic Harp. The
tiny Irish thimble were from the charity shop.

How was your St. Patrick's Day?
Were you able to celebrate a bit?
