Glowing Candle.

We're still on Zoom for many of our
grief programming almost 2 years
since Covid started. And I light this
candle for every session, faithfully.

Candles of Love.

Today, we gathered with other families
in our community who experienced loss.

All of us have lost a precious baby during
pregnancy or anytime after birth OR a
sweet child, at any age, for any reason.
Each year, we gather with love to remember.

We meet on the 2nd Sunday in December. I am
one of the facilitators of our groups and with others,
put together our service in our community. We
are fortunate to have a funeral home provide space.

There are candles and cookies, beautiful words and
sweet music. Hugs and tears. Children and laughter.
Memories and pictures. A safe place. A needed
program. Healing in a month that is full of life and
pressure to "forget" this difficult and unimaginable
experience. We survive and continue to grow. But
we never, ever forget. Tonight in every time zone
around the World, for 24 hours, families are lighting
candles in memory of their babies and children. If
our sweet little ones could look down, from where
ever they are, they would see a ball of light, just for
them, full of love, just for them from all of us ....

My family is honoring our precious babies:
Bretton, Ciara, Birkley, Cabriola, Cambria,
Beau, Cree and Bentley. Our candles are lit, our
hearts are full, our tears are many. We remember.

Baby Loss Month.

The month of October in many countries around
the world is recognized as a time to remember
babies who die during pregnancy or anytime after
birth. And the 15th of October is a special day for
families to gather, at 7 p.m., to light candles in
every time zone. This event creates awareness of
the impact that baby loss has on local communities,
and the impact on individual grieving families.

This year, we coordinated an event in the
big city ~ the lighting of the bridge that
spans the river. There was lots of press
and I was on tv 4 times in one day! But
it was worth the time and energy to help
families have a place to be to remember.

After we got home, we lit this candle,
gifted to us from another bereaved
parent, in memory of our tiny babies:
B, C, B, C, C, B, C, B. Loved forever.

Light on a cold Winter's Night.

We recently had our Annual Candlelight
Memorial Service for Grieving Parents.

It's an honor each year to welcome these
special families in from the cold, to
remember their children, light a candle,
say their name out loud and be comforted.

A safe place, when the world is dark.
Candles to warm the night and the
broken hearts of those who attend. We
feel so loved each year to be welcomed.
