For Those who Love from the Heart.

For those who love from the heart
There is no such thing as separation
For those who love unconditionally
There is no such thing as heartbreak
For those who have made peace with their past
And are committed to a path of love and kindness
There is no such thing as guilt
For those who have learned
from their mistakes and
continue to strive for success
There is no such thing as failure
For those who are as compassionate and
accepting toward themselves
As they are toward others
There is no such thing as shame
For those whose pain serves a purpose
There is no such thing as suffering
For those who learn and evolve
from their past experiences
Allowing them to give rise to great growth
and transformation within them
There is no such thing as regret
For those who do not shoulder burdens
that aren’t theirs to carry
There is no such thing as resentment
For those who do not take
themselves too seriously
And are able to laugh at themselves
There is no such thing as embarrassment
For those who do not consider other’s opinions
of them to be superior to their own
There is no such thing as self-consciousness
And for those who love with their soul
There is no such thing as loss.

Words by Tahlia Hunter

Adapted from and inspired by the quote by Rumi
“Goodbyes are only for those who love with their eyes.
Because for those who love with heart and soul,
there is no such thing as separation.”

Bereavement Boxes.

When a resident in our hospice dies,
we present the family with a unique
Bereavement Box. It doesn't replace
their family member, but the message
we are providing is that even after the
death, we are still here and thinking
of each of them. We put a book with
daily passages if they wish to read it,
a candle, a bracelet (or one for each
family member), tea, kleenex, a stone,
words of affirmation from our grief
team and a beautiful suncatcher with
a crystal and rainbow beads to hang
up in memory. The box is for future
items to keep or for cards the family
receives from others during this time.

Cozy Corner.

My new desk finally arrived from Wayfair.
And this corner in my tiny office is now ready
for intense but compassionate work. I am so
looking forward to heading back in tomorrow.

What do you think of my new cozy space?
Isn't this the sweetest desk and comfy chair?

Heartfelt Love.

I'm working with a young boy now, on the verge of becoming a teen, who's mother suicided in the fall. He's an incredible kid, with a full heart of love for those who are in his life and an artistic streak that mirrors his mother's talents. I love working with him but feel such sorrow each week after he leaves my centre. His mom was in so much pain but I know he'll be okay in the end. His strength, his compassion and his art will carry him thru this difficult time in his young life. I'm glad to have him as a client.

Does Love carry you thru the hard times?

Hate Your Job Much?

Seriously! If  you look in the mirror in the morning, before you go to your job and your face looks like this ....

.... then please do us all a favor and get yourself a new job!! Dh and I just got back from attempting to get new passports and the lady at the counter was so nasty that I have now filed a complaint. She had no reason for treating us like crap (sorry for the language). We have our paperwork all in order, pictures signed, guarantors signed, fees in hand. In no way did we deserve the experience we had. I'm thankful for the lovely individual who took my call and encouraged me to launch a complaint. The sad part is that the scowling face lady was wrong. She should have taken our apps and we could have been done. Now we have to go back. We've decided we'll go directly to the Government of Canada passport office downtown instead of a Service Canada secondary location. For one thing, our passports will be ready in 10 business days instead of 20 but we'll also receive better treatment and no hassles. Worth the few extra minutes of driving and paying for parking.

I hope that this individual is able to reform her actions OR quit the job she has and find one she'll love. I'm sorry for my rant and I know not everyone gets to work where they want, but that is no excuse for treating others because you are miserable. It's not my fault!!

Rant over. Back to real life again!
