March Bucket List.

We have been so fortunate to have a really love "early Spring" though my daughter keeps reminding us that our "3rd Winter" should come along anytime soon! One can only hope. After a week of bitter cold, this past week was filled with beautiful blue skies, warm air and melting snow. It's slushy and I have no idea what color our car is, but the feeling that just around the corner, we'll soon be seeing buds on trees and flowers in our garden makes me so happy. It feels lighter. I wore a sweater to the centre yesterday, instead of a big Winter coat and boots, with hat and scarf, and layers of mitts. It was nice to put on a cotton pair of socks, instead of my wool ones. And to not have to warm up our wheat bag to warm our bed at night. If "3rd Winter" comes along, this little reprieve has been so lovely for my heart and my spirit.

Love the "March Bucket List" as my visual for today. It has me excited for this month. The thought of starting some seeds inside, to wear lighter clothes and to decorate for St. Patrick's Day makes me smile! As a 4th generation Irish lassie (maybe 3rd, not sure how it works), this is one of my favorite celebrations. A whimsical day that truly signifies Spring for me. I've put all of Christmas away now, and have started to get out the green for the day. And then a bit of Spring is happening too. Changed out the front door wreath and hung up the wind chimes on the back deck. We couldn't put "Bruce the Moose" away as he's actually buried under some ice but once that melts, we'll hang him to dry and then tuck him away until next Winter. I'm starting think about our Spring projects for outside and what we'd like to accomplish this year.

Hope you are starting to get excited about Spring!

Goodbye March.

With more snow in one month than we saw all
Winter, it was hard to know if the month of
Spring, March, would actually become the
month it was supposed to be. Today, the sun
was out and the last bits of snow were melting.
Looking forward to the rest of Spring and no snow!

Hello, March.

March always brings some hope. As the snow starts
to melt and Spring begins to emerge, it always feels
lighter. We don't have to bundle up and wear heavy
boots. Less sweaters and no mitts! Can't wait for it!

Spring is Here!

We are in full Spring mode up here in the
northern part of Alberta. Bits of snow
remain in the shade of the forest but any
spots that have even a bit of sun on them
through the day have no snow at all. I'm
so excited to start to see little bits of green
emerge from the very frozen Earth. March
was a super busy month here but April is
a bit quieter. This week, I only work on
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and then
I'm off for 5 incredible days, all in a row.
A rarity lately! Planning is underway for
my time off. I hope to finish up a bit of
paperwork but then I want to chill and try
to get my energy and my confidence back.
It will take time but I'm on the mend now!

How was your March?
Are you excited about April?

Goodbye March.

I love March for St. Patrick's Day, for green grass
that suddenly shows up, for shoots on trees and
buds on bushes. It's also hard, with our son Bretton's
birthday on the 25th and my dad's on the 28th. I
like to hold on to the idea they're both together in
Heaven, maybe riding skate boards! My sweet loves!

Hello March.

Hello to March! This is the month I so look forward
to after the long Winter. We can still get snow this
month, as we did for the last 2 days. BUT we know
Spring will be here in a few short weeks, and that
helps when the snow still falls. So close to green
landscapes and pretty flowers again. Almost there!

Welcome March.

Welcome to March. I am never excited about the
months of January and February, other than for
the 1st of January and Valentine's Day. The snow,
the blustery winds, the cold air and the short, dark
days make me wish for Spring for a solid 8 weeks.
And then magically, it's almost done and we turn
the calendar over to March. A time of renewal, of
green buds and longer days. Welcome to March.

Bye Bye February.

.... Hello March! It was a lovely month but the
snow today has made me more excited for March.
The month of Spring, the month of Leprecauns,
the month of hope and promise for new growth.

Are you excited to say bye to February?
And a happy hello to March and Spring?

Welcome March.

And on the heels of the last few
sunny and warm days, we're now
under a huge storm warning. I'm
making our little list of what we
need, should we get snowed in.
I was so hopeful that Spring was
just coming a bit early this year. One
more snow and hopefully that's it!
