Dh's Surprise.

I managed to pull off the "party of the year"

for Dh's 60th. He had no idea as we did

it a week after his original birthday. While

I stayed home to do some "work", he did

meet up with dear friends at our little guys

hockey game. When they came home to

have dinner here, I had them go down to

the theatre room to set up a movie for later.

While they did that, all our guests arrived

and hid. I called dh and friends up for our

dinner and "SURPRISE!!" And he truly was!

The rest of the evening was full of laughter,

music, drinks, food, chatter and so many

new memories were created. The picture

above shows how relaxed it was to have

our friends and family over. The best kind

of party are those where guests gather on

the floor in the kitchen, or around the island,

or on the floor in front of the fire. I was so

happy that it all worked and  he loved it!

Blogtober: Day 30.

We had the best time last night at our local

Museum's Halloween Party. They asked us

to set up on site with our radio station. So

we did and enjoyed providing music and

conversation live, on air. It was a very late

night ~ I think we hit our pillows around

4 am .... but up bright and early to tackle

our long list of outdoor Fall prep. All done

now and happy to have a quiet night not

in costumes! Do you have Halloween plans?

Not in our garden, but in our kitchen. Dh 

had a staff potluck at work so we made this: 

It was fun to plan, then put together and

I'm told it was a big hit at the party. 

We ended up with to much fruit left over

so the rest went into a fruit salad to enjoy.

I'm Sorry ....

Some of my favorite blogs are the ones that have "Blinky Parties" that you can join or just read. A great way to find blogs that are similar to your own. A great way to get new ideas. A great way to feel connected. Because I've participated in a number, I thought it would be a good idea to try and start a regular "Blinky Party" on my own. Good idea, right? No, it turns out, it wasn't! But still could be in time.

I know now that I chose the wrong time of year to start. Too close to the holidays, too many other projects to tackle. I only posted for a few weeks and even had some responses. Thank you for joining in. But then with the holidays, I got behind and now I feel like a schmuck! Not my intent but just the way life has a way of getting in the way. I have now promised myself I will try again but once I figure out when the best time would be for me to start a link that I will be able to keep up with so it can build and be a nice forum for others. Here I offer my apology ~ I am truly sorry ~ and my promise that once I have a better grasp of blogging and deadlines, I will create a new "Blinky Party."

Orange is the new Blue.

After 44 years with a Conservative Government,

tonight, we have a new party & a new leader.

I am excited beyond belief to embrace this new

movement. And thrilled we have a sound & solid

female Premier. Looking forward to watching the

next 4 years unfold & formulate as our new path.

The "Blues" are gone! And Orange is the new Blue

in Alberta tonight. What a welcome change. The

people have spoken & voted. In a short 32 minutes,

the old party was booted & the new welcomed in.
