Day at Home.

Foggy morning and then rain this
afternoon. A great day to be home!

Still so Beautiful!

I took these photos a few weeks ago
but we're back to foggy days again.
I kind of like the eeriness but it can
be a bit hard to drive, not knowing
if there's a moose standing in the
middle of the road. Still so beautiful!

Foggy Days.

Our range road with icy fog. Happy we
have had very little snow but the fog
and ice crystals are a bit much at times.
Spring is almost here - 30 more days!

The highway was a bit clearer. But still
hard to see, though it looks not bad here.
I will take this any day over roads that
are covered in ice and huge snowfalls!

Heavy Fog.

Woke up to heavy, thick fog today that
was causing accidents on the roads. I
have to drive in to town this morning
but it looks like it's now lifting and the
sun has shown up. It was so bad earlier
that we couldn't see the end of our land.

Fog is common at this time of year as
we move from cold to warm to cold.
I find it so eery and really it is not one
of the weather pieces I enjoy at all ....

Foggy River.

We dug ourselves out and returned to
work on Wednesday. This was the river
as we crossed over it ~ foggy and very
misty with the warmer but chilly air.

Blogtober: Day 7.

A cold, frosty October morning and this made the fog
appear, which made driving interesting in a few spots.
Down in the river valley, with the mist from the river,
there was thick fog that made every one drive super
slow. I love mornings like this. Makes me thing of the
moors in England and old movies. A beautiful sight!

Foggy Eve.

We woke up to frosty trees and thick
fog again. Hard to see the neighbors.

Little potting shed, alone but steady.
Waiting for Spring. Set up inside already.

Typically through the trees, we can see
our little lane. But today, it's very hidden.

The fog moves through the trees. It's
so eery but beautiful at the same time.

End of the Day.

And it wasn't much better at the end
of the day. Tonight, we are now under
a Fog Advisory. I have to go back to
the City tomorrow. Hope it ends soon.

Love that our subdivision road has some
character to it. No straight lines here!

Foggy Commute.

Dh and I drove to work together today.
This was our very foggy commute in.

By this point, you can see the big City.
Today, nothing but very, very thick fog.

Foggy Morning.

Our start to the day was very foggy.
Lasted until after lunch and then it went
away. The sun came out, then it rained,
then the sun was out, then it was dusk.

A very crazy weather day. At least it
didn't snow! How was it in your world?

Creepy Fog.

We've been living with heavy fog for about 4 days
now. It's a bit lighter the last 2 days but still there.

It gives a very creepy, cold feeling. I can't get warm.
Even a drive in to town hot chocolate didn't help at all.

See how thick it is? At the airport, they had to delay
and even cancel a few flights. Not good on Spring
Break! We're cozy here at home but you can see in
the reflection in the last picture, we've had to put a
few lamps on just to be able to adequately see what
we're doing inside the house. I hope this leaves us
soon. I'm off this week and wanted to work outside.
I've got lots to do inside but outside would be better.

How's the weather in your neck of the woods?
Fog or snow? Rain or sun? Share yours please!

In the Fog ....

,,,, at the cottage on the cliff.
It was silent and very grey.

We couldn't see the mountain.
We couldn't see the ocean.

The quiet was unnerving.
The mist and fog was creepy.

It lasted all day long.
By night it had drifted.

We had a bit left by bed time.
And the next day it was sunny.

Doesn't this look like it
should be in a movie?

Dh trying to capture the look of
the fog in the trees on the cliff.

What did I do while he
played photographer?

Made a big pot of Irish tea
to last us all thru the afternoon.

Foggy Morning.

Often my writing desk in the turret is filled with sun at this time in the morning. But today, the clouds have come in and the fog has formed. It's supposed to be super warm today but it was cold last night so I'm sure the cold and the warm met and are duking it out up there in the atmosphere. I can hear the melting happening outside. Will have to take a little walk later. We made sure on the weekend that all our downspouts and the hose from the rain barrel are all set and ready for the water that is beginning to flow off the roofs. It's going to get noisy.

I have today off and I'm still in bed, cozied up and reading emails, blogs and my book. I plan to get up soon, have a nice, warm shower and make some lunch. This afternoon, I promised dh I'd whip up a banana/chocolate chip loaf for his meeting tonight at our house with our film crew. A little tidying and a load or two of laundry. And then the big job for the day .... gathering up our receipts (all in envelopes already and labeled) for our accountant so we can get our taxes in before we go away at the end of March. Taxes must be filed in Canada by April 30th, so we have lots of time but our accountant is a busy lady and I want to bring them in to her in the next week or so. Fingers crossed we won't have to pay any additional taxes this year. Our first year with our rental house last year was a bit nerve wracking at tax time but we had done enough renos and had enough deductions, that we ended up with a lovely tax refund. We've always done our own taxes but last year with the house and our investments, it's getting a bit complicated. I'm so glad now that we hired her as she worked her magic and it benefitted us well. This year, we didn't have many renos and I got a raise, so I'm now a bit nervous but we bought our RRSP's yesterday and upped our amounts, so with those tax deductions and our receipts, I'm hoping we'll have enough that we either get a refund, or we're right were we need to be (no refund, no additional taxes to pay) or if we do have to pay, it's modest. Wish us luck! I'm off to get this day going. The morning was lovely to sleep in and have no schedule. But now I've got to get back to reality and have a productive afternoon. Have a sunny great day!

Dreary Morning.

We've had some bitter cold like the rest
of Canada but as you can clearly see by the
picture above, just a tiny bit of snow. And
yet today, it was finally sunny and warm,
which made the streets slushy. Tomorrow
it's supposed to be 2 above Celsius. I'm
sure the slush will be mud by then! But
at least the bitterness is gone. This shot
was taken last week, when the fog and
the hoar frost was our view each morning.

Is is still cold in your region?
Have you had lots of frost and fog?

Where is the Sun?

We've had weeks of fog and overcast
skies. Some rain, very little snow.

It's so gloomy. Not quite festive enough
to be Christmasy. Not quite Fall any more.

A bright spot this afternoon. We finished
our little gravel path to the front door. The
recycled tire Celtic designed stepping
stones are covered in the tiny bit of snow
we received over night. Love our little wavy
path. And now with the solar lights, there
is some brightness in these dark, foggy days.
Thankfully, it's supposed to be hot tomorrow!

Foggy Days.

We have had the strangest weather all year
long. Last Winter we barely had any snow
and this is a region that normally is covered
for almost 6 months of the entire year.

But last year, very little snow. And then we had
a very wet and rainy Summer. So much rain that
some farmers had to declare their crops ruined. We
couldn't get our grass in because it was just too wet.

Our Fall has also been very wet and extremely foggy.
Normally we don't get fog at all or very little amounts.

I took these shots from the top of a parkade in the
big city next door to us a couple of weeks ago.

I had presented a workshop to an another organization
downtown and was leaving but stopped for these shots.

Amazing how thick it was. This is what it's been like
most days, well into November. Very little snow, it's
still raining and the fog continues to roll in. Today,
we had a bit of sun, which  melted the bits of snow.

Have you experienced "strange" or unusual weather?
Is fog something you receive lots in the Fall?
