November 1, 2025

Hello November.

A month that is both a dread as we get closer to
darker nights and cold weather, and a sweet month
with a number of special days, including three of us
in our little family with birthdays. We had truly a
great Summer, but Fall seems to have gone by way
to quickly. We've had 1 small adventure with snow.
It melted quickly but I'm sure the true weather will
show up soon. Until then, I'm still going to enjoy
the little bit of Fall colors that are still hanging on.
Soon the warm colors will become white and crisp!

Hope you're still enjoying an amazing Fall season.

Hello August

One of my favorite Summer months, while waiting for
my very favorite season of Fall. I love August for a few
reasons ~ it's our Wedding Anniversary each year. It's
the month of my mom~in~laws birthday. And my sweet
cousin too. I loved August as a kid when we spent lots
of time out at our grandparents cottage on the beach. I
loved it as a kid when we would go shopping for new
clothes and back to school supplies. I always start my
Christmas shopping and planning in August. And now
that I've started mastering the art of gardening, this is the
best time of year for my growing landscape. All in all,
this is the loveliest month around! What do you think?

Snowflake Greeting.

Yes, we do still have some of our Christmas
decorations up at the childcare centre. It seems
in a month that tends to be "dark" and gloomy
that the more sparkle we have, the better we do!

Hello December.

The month of snow, celebrations, love and gifts! I
love this month, though I wish it was less busy and
more spread out. Truly a time of spreading joy and
cheer. We have the snow. Bring on the celebrations!

Goodbye July.

It was a great month, with many new
memories to cherish and experiences
to reflect back on. Growth, healing, and
progress were made in this hot month!

February 29, 2024

Goodbye February.

It was unseasonable warm, without any snow,
until this week. So now we're starting to leave
Winter and get ready for Spring, only to have
Winter finally show up! Thankful our region
is not being hit as hard as down south but also
thankful the snow may help us have less fire
concerns this Summer. More storms in the
next week. But Spring will soon be here. Yes!

Are you ready for this next season?

Goodbye January.

Saying goodbye to an amazing
month. It was so cold for a few
weeks but we are fortunate to
work from home. And then we
headed into a warming trend
that makes it now feel like we
have entered Spring! Last year
was beyond hard so I'm hopeful
that 2024 is a better year. All we
can do is work hard, and hope!

Goodbye January. You were great!

Goodbye July. Welcome August.

Every day, I try to find the good in a World
where there are so many moments of pain
and despair. July was beautiful in so many
ways, and yet still hard on a daily basis. I
look forward to August and hope it comes
with good days, sweet new memories and
beautiful moments with family and friends.
Goodbye hot July. Welcome calm August!

Goodbye June!

It was an "interesting" month,
a busy month, an unreal month
and a bit quiet of a month when
we were away. Goodbye June!

Blogtober.

I've done "Blogtober" in the past but in the busyness
of the last couple of months, I completely forgot! I
will join in, late, but still committed. So watch for
updated posts until the end of the month for October.

Will  you be joining in on "Blogtober?"

Hello February.

Hello February! A shorter month, with a focus on
love, flowers, chocolate and family. We have a long
weekend about half way through as well. It's not as
dark as January and closer to March! A good month.

November 1, 2020

Hello November.

Hello November! In our house, this is a big birthday month. The 6th is our grandson's 10th, the 19th is dh's and mine is on the 30th. I also have friends and colleagues who are all celebrating at some point this month. This month is also when our snow will traditionally arrive, but often leaves again if the weather stays warm like it is expected for this week, with temps in the double digits again. A good time to take down the Halloween decorations and start to get the Christmas ones put up. The lights on the cottage are all done. We had them lit up for last night and it was a hit with our neighbors and the little goblins. Clear white so really, the lights go with anything. We will leave them up all year ~ so much easier next year and when they are not lit up, you don't really see them. One job off the task list.

Our son and future daughter~in~law are coming for a short but sweet visit the week of November 10th. We're hoping to have our Christmas decorating down by then so that we can have a little celebration as we won't see them this year for the holidays. An early but heartfelt Christmas together.

For the rest of the month, I hope to do more painting, some trim work (think board and batten), a Fall purge, set up the last bits in my grief office at the family centre, write at least 2 grants for funding, finish up our Christmas shopping, mail holiday cards and connect with a few friends that we've only been chatting online. Busy but productive month!

What have you got on tap for November?
Is it a super busy time or nice and quiet?

November.

Welcome to the month of falling
leaves, long Christmas lists, snow
and many birthdays in our house.
A month of cozy celebrations.

June 1, 2018

Hello June.

The last month of school before a well
deserved Summer Break. A month of
blooms and growing gardens. A month
of sunshine and warmth, thunder storms
and late nights. A month of a birthday for
our second son. A month to truly celebrate.
