Today's Quote.

We have had so many sunny days. This
weather is amazing and we know it won't
last forever. But we're outside as much
as we can be, knowing it will soon turn!

Blogtober: Day 22.

Sun filled morning shot. After days
of dark and snow filled clouds.

It was almost too bright but gave
us both a smile with the image.

I don't mind Winter so much when
we have bright sun to keep us warm.

What do my eyes see today?

It's bright and though looks overcast
in this shot, I do believe I see sunshine!

Yup! That's it!! Look at all the vibrant blue sky! I swear we've been sun deprived for a solid 2 weeks. I was not expecting this sight this morning, I quickly did a check of our forecast, only to discover that by 4 today, we should be having a great old thunderstorm. Sigh. And then I looked for the next 2 weeks and guess what? Storms, rain, thunder and good old lightening. Double sigh. I just want to stain the decks with their final coat! I just want to get our sweet little greenhouse up! I just want to truly finish planting the perennials that are patiently sitting beside their chosen spot! Grrrr!! I'm tempted today to put the deck furniture back up on the deck and at least enjoy sitting comfortable for the few minutes that we have sun. And hope that by August, we'll have a nice streak of no rain so we can finally finishing staining not just the back decks, but also the greenhouse deck as well as the front veranda. It would be nice to end the Summer with all of this done, in addition to getting our landscaping plan for this year ticked off the list. We've made good progress for sure but still things we'd like to see done before the snow comes again. At this point, we can only hope for a turn in this weather. I know it's not the end of the World here but we have such short Summers, we always want to make the most out of each one, and standing in a window looking out at the pouring rain, day after day, is not my idea of a fun time. Many of my blog buddies are wishing for rain, and here we just watch it pour from the sky. Where is it all coming from? Go away! Ugh!! Thankfully, no forest fires this year, just plain old rain. I'm thankful for the green landscape around us. Hoping at some point, Mother Nature moves the rain cloud above us over to those who need it and give us more sun, with just the right mix of rain to keep everything growing well. Please!!

Okay, enough of my little rant. I'm off to enjoy the sunshine while I work. Too precious to not soak in it all day. Hope you and yours have a lovely Monday and get rain if you need it or the sun if it's lacking. Lap it all up if you can! Namaste.

Spoiled Plants.

I do sometimes spoil my plants just a
bit. This new addition to our "jungle"
needed some extra sun. So I pulled out
the tiny footstool and balanced the pot.

It seems to have worked well as the leaves
are standing just a bit taller and the green
has returned to this little pot. Anything to
keep my sweet little spoiled plants happy!

The Last Rays.

At the end of the day, we get
the last rays of sun that come
from the West, shining through
the big windows in the turret.
The front of the house is full
of sun and warmth. Truly
my favorite time of day and
I'm so glad we positioned the
house so we could capture the
last rays each and every day.

Afternoon Sun.

The last few days have been so gloomy
but this happened today. So very worth the
wait and the warmth was very welcomed.
Temperatures are rising and the melt is on.

Our Little Nook.

I love how most days, our little nook
is full of warm sunshine and treed views.

Today of course, the frost has taken over
the landscape outside but there is the sun.

Peeking through just enough to give us
some nice light and warm our hearts.

Hoping tomorrow the sun warms the
Earth enough to heat up the cold air.

Question of the Day!

Our world has woken up finally and spring has arrived. The sun is out, there is a light breeze, the air smells wonderful, the grass is getting greener by the moment and the buds on the trees are bigger every second. As much as I love the rain, the sun goes make everything "happy." Planning my day to include time outside, watering our lawns and our plants, sitting on the deck under the gazebo to have my lunch and opening all the windows to bring the air inside. Classical music playing to keep my company. Cupcakes baking in the oven.

I have to teach a class today to a group of grieving teens at an alternative school in the city. A nice little group, with 3 boys and 1 girl, plus their guidance counsellor. We're meeting for 8 weeks and today is week 3. I've planned our art based around clay, something they were quite interested in trying. I have one very chatty boy who is very determined to not go down the same path as his family members in their grief journey, which has included addictions and crime. Smart kid, full of hope for his own future.

After the class, I have to pick up my daughter from work and we should be home by 3:20. That leaves the rest of the evening for enjoying the yard, including dinner on the deck. I have some paperwork to tackle and hope to get a good start this morning. I have two deadlines looming. One is Friday but that one just requires printing off the documents to send. The other is next week, May 14th. It's a big one and lots of little pieces of paper and notes that need to be organized. The actual meeting will be less than an hour but the gathering will consume some time that as much as I don't want to do it, it will be good to get those things into a better order of organization. Next week is full of meetings every evening and one concert midweek, so I'm cherishing this week that includes just one evening meeting on Thursday. Working in the morning tomorrow, then working from home in the afternoon. Wednesday is my day off. Thursday is my long day, a solid 12 hour work day, including two counselling sessions in the morning for two children, an afternoon class to attend (yeah, I'm not teaching that one!), and a support group meeting in the evening to lead. All easy stuff. Friday is easy with two small classes with little people. Saturday is full with a grief class in the morning and shopping/housework/gardening in the afternoon. We might go to a plant sale at a community event that includes an art sale! Sunday is Mother's Day and hopefully a day of blissful nothing, except family, good food and relaxing. The weather is supposed to be 20+ every day. I should be sporting a lovely tone of brown on my skin by week's end!
