Foggy Days.

Our range road with icy fog. Happy we
have had very little snow but the fog
and ice crystals are a bit much at times.
Spring is almost here - 30 more days!

The highway was a bit clearer. But still
hard to see, though it looks not bad here.
I will take this any day over roads that
are covered in ice and huge snowfalls!

Icy Roads.

We were fortunate to not have to go
anywhere for the last week, staying
home in our cozy cottage, the warmth
and light of family. But yesterday, it
was time to leave the house to pick up
an item from Ikea we had ordered. I
was nervous for the drive but despite
the icy roads, dh was amazing and we
were there and back in no time. Lots
of warm sun and blue skies also helped.

Blustery Drive.

In addition to the recent extreme cold
we've endured, we've also had snow.

On this day, as we drove home from a
trek into town, the clouds opened ....

.... the winds picked up and the snow
blew across the roads, making them slick.

We were both so happy to come down our
range road and turn down our little lane.
Nothing more comforting than seeing our
little cottage behind the trees, cozy and warm.

The Perils of Snow!

Hi everyone!

With the heavy snowfall we've just endured, comes things that only occur when nature is done. Icy roads, poor visibility and bitter cold. Tonight, we're not getting to sleep as easily as we normally do because of the very loud noises coming from the graders. It it so loud, it actually sounds like they are just outside our bedroom window but in fact, they are quite a distance away. They will be working around the clock to get the snow moved before tomorrow mornings commute. We feel so fortunate to have a county that is providing this service to keep our roads safe and clear. But oh, the noise!! It's almost like nails scrapping down a chalkboard as they scrape away the snow and hit the concrete pavement. It will so nice to drive again after being cooped up inside for the last four days.

If only they could scrape quietly!!

How are your roads in your world?
