Winter .... Again!

We woke up to more snow again over the last 2 days.

It is so fluffy, perfect ski snow. Lots of accidents

happened in the big City but we didn't have to go

out so we avoided the risk. Today, we did get up

really super early to head in to town for groceries.

Left the cottage at 8 am, and we were back home by

10:40 am. In that time, we did our big grocery shop, 

stopped at the dollar store for ribbon, another food

store for my favorite chocolate milk, a big box store

to buy a carpet cleaner and then we headed over to

the park fo the annual Winter Festival. All the time,

the snow kept falling. It was quite magical but I had

a board meeting at 11 am, so home we zipped after

chatting with friends and community members. We

loved getting our errands down so quickly. Every

store we were in had no customers. Best time to shop!

Blue Butterflies.

Last year, we had tiny blue butterflies

that were everywhere on the acreage.

I had never seen these before, so it was

magical to have them all around us.

This year, we've only spotted a few

but now we have gold butterflies all

over. I'm not sure the color difference

but wish we could have the blues back.

The gold ones are pretty but they are

in great abundance and are everywhere.

On my plants, on the furniture, on the

windows .... everywhere you look you

can see them hanging about. Maybe

they are keeping the blues away ....

Treescape.

One of the things that attracted us to our acreage

was the beautiful trees that filled the space. It was

heartbreaking to take some of the forest down to

make room for the house but worth it in the end. I

had fun taking these shots, showing the height of

our treescape and the sun shining on the forest.

Landscape Dreaming.

Our landscape artist brought over our plan

a few weeks ago for our final approval.

She worked magic with our blank slate.

And now we have ideas to fill our space.

It's likely going to take us 4 or 5 years to

finish all that we hope to create in the garden.

I'm sure it will be worth the wait.

Until then, I continue to dream ....

My Dream Garden.

We're working away on designing the

landscaping on our acreage. Fun!

This is my dream garden. We have purchased

our raised garden beds but need fencing now. 

Isn't it incredibly sweet?
