Counselling Space.

As we work hard to get our new centre's renos

underway, I'm realizing how much I'll miss our

little counselling space. When we took on this

space, it was painted grey and was not cozy or

comfy at all. But we chose a lovely green, then

found some furniture and our little fireplace, and

now our clients never want to leave! We plan to

duplicate this feeling at our new space. Hoping

we can make it just as lovely. It's going to take

a ton of work but we'll get there. Beyond excited!

Rainy Start.

So excited to start our renovations last week but today, with all the rain, we had no choice but to cart, carry and wheelbarrow all the drywall outside to the dumpster bin. In the rain. We were soaked but we got it done! In between smashing down walls, coughing up drywall and taking apart a desk, we managed to bond with our students and celebrate our dd's birthday again with sparklers and donuts. It's been a great start to this process and I hope it continues as we all work hard to create our new family centre in our tiny hamlet, beside the Big City. Wish us luck ~ we'll need it!

Cozy Corner.

 

Feeling so lucky leaving my office the

other day. My ED gifted me her chair

from her office so I could set up a cozy

counselling corner for clients. I have

plans for a table in between, along with

a tall lamp behind the chair on the right.

Some lovely art and perhaps a hanging

shelf or some nicknacky items. So blessed.

Inspiring Hope.

Borrowed from a social media site. Not mine but

the words are so comforting today. I had client

after client. Despite their personal grief journeys,

each is finding Hope. I had a heavy heart with all

the stories, the experiences but remembered that

even in the toughest journeys, there is still life

and love, family and friends, memories and the

stories. And best of all, there is inspiring Hope.

Lovely Design.

On our trek down the street where our

venue was located, we spotted this ....

.... a new counselling centre, in a new build,

a very lovely design, a welcome addition.

In the big City, there are so many needs and

yet wait lists are so long.  Having a new spot

for clients to explore their experiences is a

very welcome move in our field. Exciting!

Counselling.

I offer compassionate counselling at our Centre.

Families now struggle with so many issues.

We have become so busy with this component

of our Centre but our counselling space is small.

You may have noticed that it is actually our

office. Not ideal but for now, it is the only

space we have to use. I'm hoping that maybe

in 2018 we can gain enough additonal funds

to secure more space, ideally separate from

the preschool setting so there is a division

for programming. I love we have space but

now we need more in order to expand and serve.
