My Cozy Office.

This space that I wasn't sure at first would be a good
move has become a sanctuary for me, as well as for
my clients and even our staff and volunteers. Anyone
who comes in to this space immediately comments
on how peaceful and light it is, which is the key when
our conversations are so dark and heavy. I'm off work
this week but when I'm back, I may move my bookcase
over a bit and put the chair by the window. Right now,
it is in kind of an awkward spot. I'll see if I can make
this change without much work. Loving my cozy office.

Do you have an office space you love?
Or for you, is it just a space to work in?

Antique Mall: After.

All set now. We spent the first day of
our booth acquisition painting and the
second day filling it up. We've been
back each week to add items and tidy.

And after just a few days, we've sold a
pieces. Not a lot yet but a good start.

I love that the staff stops and turns on the
little lamp each day. Very welcoming.

This weekend is a long holiday weekend
in Canada. We may pop in to add a bit
more and move things around. Other
vendors have told us this helps to gain
interest when the booth is always looking
different. We're going to add a wing
chair to sell and a few more wall items.
A few more books and a china set too.

Dollhouse Update: Shutters.

The dollhouse I'm working on came
with white shutters that had blue lines
painted on them. No lovely architectural
details at all. And I'm THE detail guy!

It was bugging me that they wouldn't
look authentic but my budget is limited,
so buying new ones is out when I have so
many other things to buy right now.

Then I remembered the big dollhouse,
tucked away in the attic, had a ton of
black shutters that look totally authentic.
So I pulled those off and got to work.

Mixed up some colors of paint and
started covering the black with green.

Here they are! Brighter and so much more
in touch with reality. Next step is to sand
them a bit then install each one. I took
out the nails so I could reuse them again.

After the shutters are on, I'm going to do
one more coat of white paint inside and the
wallpapering will begin. The driveway is glued
down. Now we just need some green grass!

Are you working on any fun projects this year?
