Cozy Corner.

Our "cozy corner" at the community preschool we

created in 2008. Such a magical spot, where learning

and community meet. There is a lot of push at this

time in the field of early learning to NOT have any

formality in the classroom. NO circle times, NO

storytime, NO direction given to children. We are

not following this new trend, though we do offer

many opportunities through the day for our littles to

be a big part of the curriculum. Instead of circle

time or story time, we invite our littles to the cozy

corner where we talk about the day, we share what

is happening outside our door, we read, we teach,

and through it all, the dignity and uniqueness of all

our children is respected and guided. I'm so very

proud and in awe of our crew for creating such a

warm and inviting space. Incredible dedication!

Blogtober: Day 21.

Not the best news today .... we were set to move

in to our new space but another delay has meant

our move will not take place now until mid to late

December. We're all packed up at the office and I

turned in my keys already but thankfully, we were

already working from home so 2 more months is

not going to be hard at all. I'm just wishing Covid

would disappear so we can get in to our classroom

and enjoy the beautiful teal feature wall! It's going

to be so amazing. I'm hoping for no more delays!

New Classroom.

So excited to show off my new classroom at our

community hospice. Our new building has been

under construction since last Summer and we're

getting ready to move in this Fall. There will be

so much space for my grieving kids and teens. A

dream come true for our team and our families.

Snuggly Warm.

The last day of school, before the

big freeze and I got to hold one of

our classroom skinny pigs while

the teachers were packing up their

cages for the holidays. Keeping

one warm while they were waiting.

Our Sweet Ginger.

October 1, 2013 ~ April 1, 2016

Just 2.5 years old, Ginger was a sweet pet for

our preschool classroom. But she became ill

over Spring Break and sadly died. We are all

so sad but know she is no longer in pain.
