The Sea.

We've not been to our little
island for a couple of years.

There are so many things we
love about our special place.

But the sea that surrounds the
whole island is a favorite for us.

The waves, the smell and all the
things that wash ashore are amazing.

Missing the Sea.

I'm missing the sea so much right now. Wishing
I could hop a plane and head straight to our tiny
little island on the coast. But deadlines loom,
many tasks are waiting and my to do list keeps
getting longer and longer every day. I'm working
through it so I can get to the sea as soon as I can.

To the Sea.

On Saturday, we left our frosty and chilly home to
head to the warm and sunny (we hoped) sea.

Our "carriage" flew us over farmland and mountains.

At the beginning of the flight, we were, at one point,
right over our home. Can't figure out where in the
picture, but it's down there. I'll have to blow it up
once we're home to see which plot of land is ours.

Ten days of resting, writing, picture taking, memory
making, adventure hiking and gourmet meal creating.

Have you had a holiday recently?
Was it just what you hoped for?

Craving the Sea!

It's been almost a year since we last visited our
island hideaway. End of June to be exact.

I'm so homesick for the quiet, hillside, ocean view
setting. A tiny cottage, full of comfort and serenity.

Seasick I guess would be a better word!

Calling tomorrow to see if there are any open spots
coming up in the next few months.

Time away from the every life stress.

Our heaven on earth!

Where do you go to get away from it all?

My guy ....

Exploring, relaxing, taking it easy!

The Sea!!

We boarded our plane at 8:05 a.m. this morning, traveled backwards through one time zone & arrived in Victoria at 8:40 a.m., picked up our rental car (the only line up we encountered all day) & were on the ferry to Salt Spring Island at 11:30 a.m.

Sea water, churning from the power of the boat.

A small boat, trying to out run the big ferry! We saw a number of boats today do this or pass right in front of us. Crazy boat drivers out there on a hot, summer long weekend.
