Wave of Light.

Tonight at 7:00 pm all over the globe,
families who have experienced the loss
of a precious baby or a sweet child, at
any age, for any reason, gather to share
their stories, and their love for those
who understand and share the journey.
Each year, since 1998, we have been
so fortunate to have our local funeral
home open their doors to our program
and our families. Our service is in the
afternoon so families don't have to
worry about traveling out to our tiny
hamlet in the dark. In the evening, we
all post photos of our candles from the
service, in memory of our angels,
as families Worldwide participate in
the Wave of Light for 24 hours. It's a
beautiful evening, and there is so much
comfort in knowing we're supporting
each other. But we also always wish
events like this would never have to
be in place. Heartbreaking but needed.

Tonight, with love, our family remembered:

Blogtober: Day 15.

Today is International Pregnancy and Infant Loss
Awareness Day. With families around the World,
we will pause to honor and remember all of our
tiny and precious babies who all have died at birth:

Bretton~Elijah Lucas Roberts
Ciara~Rose Kennedi Roberts
Birkley~Finn Kensington Roberts
Cabriola~Ireland Laci Roberts
Cambria~Sage Kassady Roberts
Beau~Harper Levi Roberts
Cree~Raven Lyric Roberts
Bentley~River Kai Roberts

This is a very special day as we are all encouraged
to light a candle @ 7:00 pm in memory of our
baby(ies). In our community, the big bridge will
also be illuminated in pink, blue and white from
dusk until dawn. A truly beautiful "Wave of Light"
from Earth to Heaven. Heartbreaking but also so
heartwarming as we show our love in a very public
way. Magical and breathtaking. But oh so sad ....

Blogtober: Day 15.

On October 15th of each year, families
gather around the World to honor their
tiny babies, who died during pregnancy
or anytime after birth. Candles are lit,
names are whispered, bridges and big
buildings are lit up. and tears are shed.

In the Big City down the road from our
cottage, I and my team are responsible
for booking the bridge each year. At
dusk, the colors of pink, blue and white
light up and remain lit, all night long. We
gather at the bridge to remember. I took
this shot of the sun setting. After a day
of light snow, it was a lovely sight ....

And then finally, the bridge was lit. The white
lights below it are the light rail transit going
across the river. It's underground for most of
the run but over the river, it's visible and loud!

Candles lit. Not all families who attended put
their candles here. With physical distancing,
some stayed back quite a bit and didn't come
forward to say their baby's names or ring the bell.

A warm glow of light, joining in with the World
in a Wave of Light at 7 pm everywhere. Love!

After we all said our heartfelt goodbyes, I
snapped this last shot before I drove home.

Back at the cottage, we gathered our bears and
lit our candles to remember and sweet, tiny babies.

Our Angel candle goes to every event that honors
baby loss in our community. I'm the "keeper" of
the candle and am always proud to light it thru
the year. This was a gift from one of our families.

Tonight, we lit our candles and remembered
with great love, our eight precious babies ....

If you are part of this baby loss community, please
know you are in our hearts today, tomorrow and always.

Namaste.
