About Me

January 6, 2015

So much Grief.

Our community has been rocked by the
largest mass murder in history for the region.

Eight murdered by a lone man.
Two children in the group.
Then he killed himself.

As a grief counsellor and educator,
I've been interviewed a number of times
over the last few days. My heart aches
for my community, for the family members
left behind, for the children who knew the
little ones, for the family friends, for all of us
struggling to make sense of a senseless act.

I have no words. They're used up and gone.
Why do things like this happen?

I'll never understand.

The tragedy is senseless. So hard.

How appalling Chy. We haven't heard of this particular tragedy in Scotland. I am so sorry to hear of it X

Soo sad. :( I hate reading/hearing the news as there seems to be something horrible happening every single day. :(

Oh my gosh, that's horrible!

I do believe that mentally ill people get ideas from watching media too much. You know?

I'm so sorry for all of you! We lived in Oklahoma City when the Murrah Bombing happened. I know how sad a community can be.

Lorrie, it's something I just can't wrap my head around. So sad.

It's not something we hear of often happening in Canada, Penny. That's what makes it even worse, we just aren't used to this. Not that it would be easier.

Carla, we stopped watching the news a long time ago and haven't subscribed to a newspaper in forever but some news does get through, like on Facebook or someone will send me an email. So hard to avoid it but this one has been hard as it's so close. And now I'm working with some of those affected.

Welcome Stacey. I do remember when that bombing took place. Another unbelievable experience.
