Blogtober: Day 15.

On October 15th of each year, families
gather around the World to honor their
tiny babies, who died during pregnancy
or anytime after birth. Candles are lit,
names are whispered, bridges and big
buildings are lit up. and tears are shed.

In the Big City down the road from our
cottage, I and my team are responsible
for booking the bridge each year. At
dusk, the colors of pink, blue and white
light up and remain lit, all night long. We
gather at the bridge to remember. I took
this shot of the sun setting. After a day
of light snow, it was a lovely sight ....

And then finally, the bridge was lit. The white
lights below it are the light rail transit going
across the river. It's underground for most of
the run but over the river, it's visible and loud!

Candles lit. Not all families who attended put
their candles here. With physical distancing,
some stayed back quite a bit and didn't come
forward to say their baby's names or ring the bell.

A warm glow of light, joining in with the World
in a Wave of Light at 7 pm everywhere. Love!

After we all said our heartfelt goodbyes, I
snapped this last shot before I drove home.

Back at the cottage, we gathered our bears and
lit our candles to remember and sweet, tiny babies.

Our Angel candle goes to every event that honors
baby loss in our community. I'm the "keeper" of
the candle and am always proud to light it thru
the year. This was a gift from one of our families.

Tonight, we lit our candles and remembered
with great love, our eight precious babies ....

Oh Chy! I'm so sorry to learn about the losses of all your babies. You've chosen such beautiful names for each of them. I have just one baby so far and trying for another but I can't imagine the devastation you must feel. Sending you the biggest hug I can squeeze in to a blog message!!

Hugs,
Justice
