Master Retreat.

I love our Master Bedroom, our cozy retreat space. Dh had already turned down the bed for the night so our pillows are not showing the "pretty" ones as those are behind the "sleeping" ones! I'll have to take another pic one day before the bed is ready for us to crawl in to. I'm getting ready to paint this room this week. We still need to figure out curtains to go with the lace panels. Prior to moving to our cottage in the country, we've always had smallish bedroom, Raising kids and being part of our community meant our bedroom then was more just for falling in to bed at the end of the day. It was always a lovely space but not one that we would really "retreat" too. But this space has become our haven, our quiet space to unwind at the end of a busy day, a place to share together and even on our own. I love rainy nights when we hear the drops hit the roof, and snowy afternoons where a nap with cozy throws and the fireplace feels like heaven! This is one of the best places to curl up with a great book or watch a late night show for two.

We watched a movie with our girls and grandson last night and fell asleep to the sound of rain. Today we woke up to .... wait for it .... the sound of rain! Really, it is just never ending. Today and tomorrow were supposed to be warm and sunny. We were looking forward to uncovering our deck furniture and lounging in the sun. Instead, I'm going to do a bit more painting while dh works on the theatre room downstairs. Then we'll shower and head in to town to pick up our groceries. Home to wipe them down and fill up the fridge, freezer and pantry. No other plans the rest of the day but after a busy week and a task filled Saturday, the rest of the day to just chill would be lovely, especially if the rain continues. Maybe we'll turn on the fireplace and see what is on our favorite channels. We both have books on the go too.

Wishing you a beautiful Sunday!
Be safe, be well, stay home!!

Such a lovely room. I love the oval window. It is raining here, but just lightly and the next few days are to be hot and humid with a shower here and there. I hope the rain stops soon for you.

What a lovely room you've created. Rain does sound cozy but we're also tired of endless days of rain/showers/drizzle.... We had yesterday and today filled with sunshine and it was wonderful. I hope you get some sunshine soon.
