Since moving to the country, our Sundays have
changed but for the better, enhancing our lives.
We no longer view Sunday as a day to "catch up"
on work or drive around to gather food or supplies
for the week. Sunday is now, as it was when we
first got married, our day to truly "catch up" on
us. Some days, we do a task or two that is on our
list but always at home. A day to sleep in, read,
try out recipes, bake, garden, sit outside in the sun.
Anything we feel like doing, but at home. We make
sure everything that needs to be done is done by
the end of Saturday. And then Sunday is ours!
Yesterday, we slept in, pulled weeds, hung up
lights around our pergola, made chili, did some
writing, some laundry and had a nap! In between
all that, we managed to finish up the second
season of "Good Girls" and watched a few more
episodes of "Escape to the Country." I love not
having to go anywhere. A quick shower, comfy
clothes and a day to kick back and do whatever
we feel like doing. When our kids were growing,
Sunday suddenly became the full day to attend
soccer tournaments, football games, shop for
all the kids, housework in between and by that
evening, we'd be exhausted. I'm so very glad
that we've again reclaimed our Sundays at home!
What does your Sundays look like?
Is it a day to stay home and relax?
