Every year, on August 8th, the Dairy
Queen's across Canada honor the many
Children's Hospital across our large and
vibrant country with Miracle Treat Day.
All the proceeds from every Blizzard are
donated to the local Children's Hospital.
In our region, it is the Stollery Children's
Hospital, where our oldest daughter is a
full time peds nurse. We feel so fortunate
that with so many littles of our own, we
only have had one child ever in hospital.
Our younger son, #3, who had suspected
meningitis as a tiny baby, he tore his ACL
as a teen and needed surgery, and he then
had appendicitis as a young adult, also
requiring surgery. In between those events,
he was always very healthy. Visiting a
Children's Hospital was not a common
experience for us, but we have always
felt comfort knowing there is a World
Class Children's Hospital in the big City.
Buying Blizzards and showing support
and gratitude is easy on for each of us
to do on Miracle Treat Day every year.
