About Me

Halfway There.

Our builder's team started to build the railing
system last week. Despite our careful measuring,
and measuring, and measuring once again, they came
up short on the pieces we ordered from the company.

.
So now the front veranda is almost done, just some
minor finishing but the back porch will have to wait.
It will take about 6 weeks for the additional pieces
needed to arrive from the east coast. Frustrating!

But we still love the Colonial/Victorian look, even
on a rainy day, and even if it is only half done!!

I love it - everything about building/renovating is frustrating I find. We waited 1/2 hr at home depot just to try ordering new house numbers on a piece of slate. It is a special order and none of their staff knew the process. When we had our floors done part of the flooring was defective so the installers sent it back, had to wait 2 more weeks to get it and for the floor to be finished, dishwasher delivered 1 day late so we had to go pick it up to have it here in time for the installer that we had prebooked. Pain in the butt but hopefully worth it.

Ooh! That would drive me crazy! I guess you have learned to be very patient throughout this whole house building experience! X

That is frustrating Cheapchick. We'll get the rest done later but for now, we can enjoy the front veranda. It's really been the only thing that has been a pain but it's so pretty, I can't stay mad for long!

Having some patience has been key for sure Penny. But worth it all in the end.
