.... were hung. And they are. Not on
our beautiful mantel above the fire ....
.... but on our desk in the great room,
where they are not in danger of falling
to the ground once they are full. We
used to hang them on the mantel at
our old house. The fireplace there was
old and a wood burner and we rarely
used it. But here with gas, it can be
on quite often and gets hot, so on to
the desk they go. I'm told St. Nick
will remember where they are hung.

Our mantle is not the best place to hang stocking either, they have slipped off more than once :)
Yours look beautiful hanging there from the sideboard, so very pretty !

Oooh, don't feel guilty Jo! We decorate early so we can enjoy the season a bit longer and so we're not rushed at the end. It's a work in progress too. We still have to put the snowman up outside (Bruce the Moose is set), the garland on the railings (inside and out), add more to the tree, donate the old decorations and start our cards. Lots to do, but doing it slowly always seems to help us have fun vs. feeling stressed. Wishing you a beautiful decorating time!
