Heirloom Shadowbox.

I love rainy days at the Antique Mall.
Even more, I love getting amazing
ideas for projects I can create. This
one caught my eye and I'm attempting
to find the same items in my stash of
treasures. Wish me luck with this one!

Making My Own.

Dh was away last week and I had to
make my own dinner. And look at
what I created! So yummy and lots
left over for lunch the next day. Yum!

In Case You Need To Hear This ....

From my heart to yours.

~ Chy

Right Here. Right Now.

What I'm wearing .... jeans, bare feet and my favorite yellow prairie shirt. I left my hair down with curls from my braids.

What I'm reading .... a bunch of magazines that I finally found after a long delay: Country Living U.K., the English Home, Daphne's Diary and Magnolia.

What's happening in my kitchen .... quiet: dinner is done.

What's outside my window .... sunny in the moment but we're under a watch with potential rain, storms, thunder and lightening.

What I'm thankful for .... my family, my home, my friends and our community.

What I'm smelling .... fresh air through the window, until it rains! Hopefully no thunder and lightening!

What I'm hearing .... Coronation Street on the tv. And dh and his buds laughing and talking upstairs in the studio as they record their podcast and radio show.

What I'm crafting .... getting ready to paint a dollhouse.

What's on my mind .... what to do tomorrow and how excited I am to see a friend in the morning.

Words to live by .... "Difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations." My hope and dreams in the moment.

Having an amazing week!

A New Passion.

A dear former co~worker recently invited me to a day
on the lake. She taught me how to paddle board, we
shared a lovely chat while we ate lunch in the middle
of the water, and my heart was filled with love and joy.
Now I have a new passion and this may end up being
a new journey. Kayaking is fun but this is even better!

Lost then Found.

I recently had the experience of losing a very precious item that I had saved for and was so excited when it arrived in our mail one rainy day last year. A set of makeup/travel bags, quilted in my colors, from my favorite designer April Cornell. I used the smaller one for my small stash of make up and kept the other one for trips when I'd need more items in my kit. I brought the smaller bag to our festival in June and kept it tucked away in the bathroom of our trailer we were gifted for the weekend. Typically no one would have gone to the back of the unit, so I was shocked when this item went missing at some point during the festival. We looked everywhere but it didn't appear in our searches. I was gutted but reminded myself that make up is easy to replace and the bag, though cherished by me, was perhaps needed more by someone else. I posted on our volunteer board and received many notes but unfortunately no one had seen it and it was clear it wasn't coming back.

Last week, when I had a break between activities, just for fun, I went on eBay and could not believe that after a very quick search, I was able to find a brand new, still sealed in the bag from a seller in California. She was lovely and the other day, this package arrived in our mailbox. Inside, the very same bags. A bit of a small miracle. I'll never understand why someone would take from someone else (not my style) but I'm glad this story has a happy ending.

Golf Days.

Dh was in a couple of golf tournaments last week,
here and also out of town. I dropped him off then
later picked him up from the local course one day
and captured the sunny morning and cloudy night!

Saturday View.

My view from the lower deck, looking
up at the upper deck. A warm and sunny
afternoon to just sit. I love all our decks
now that we're finally getting to the end
of all our landscaping. Bit by bit, it's all
coming together. One day, it will be done!

Unexpected Inspiration.

We visited the Antique Mall in the Big
City today. It was quiet ~ a perfect time!

I have this dollhouse. Mine is still very
much a work in progress. I love the trim.

Wow! I could sell mine once it's all
complete. I've never really had a plan
for all my dollhouses, other than the
act of rescuing each and fixing them up!

This one was quite nicely done and has
given me some inspiration to continue.

I love how the trim and the back of the
house has been carefully considered.

Great finishes and the floors are amazing.
Hoping mine will turn out just as nice!

No furniture but a few pieces of porcelain
are included in the price. I'm sure it will sell.

If you're working on your own dollhouse in
the moment, where do you find your inspiration?
This was unexpected for me as it's not often we
find a dollhouse or miniatures at the Antique Mall.

My Guy's Dream.

My mom used to threaten me if I even thought about
riding on a motorcycle, so it's been a bit of a journey
to get to this point. It is not my dream, especially with
my mom's words in my head! But he's always wanted
a bike and the perfect one came along earlier this year.
Now that we've taken our lessons, it's time to be free
on the road, enjoying the nature around us. The risks
are there but he's an amazing driver and I trust him!

Night Storms.

I truly wish we could have storms during
the day. At night, it's so hard to navigate
the fears I carry from childhood when
the skies are dark and loud. Beyond scary!

Companion Planning.

My homework for the Summer in prep
for next year's gardening season. New
to me but many of my gardening buds
follow Companion Planting. Interesting!
