Sacred Showers.

So far, it's been a sunny but hot Spring. Too hot. I honestly can't remember the last time we've had any rain. There have been several predictions of rain but then it never came. Our grass is still green but that's because we have been watering daily. I hate to see our next water bill! There is no water ban just yet but there is definitely a fire ban as the dry, crisp ground is now prime for forest fires, which are rampant around the province. It's hard to get a lot of work done when the air is so hot & not moving. It's hard to sleep at night when everything "sticks" to our over warm bodies. Miserable time for all. But there was a promise of rain & guess what finally arrived? The clouds appeared, the wind picked up, the thunder rolled & the showers, the sacred showers we've been waiting for, produced a downpour. It didn't last long but it did cool the earth & sleep was much more comfortable. Today, we are supposed to get another sacred shower for the afternoon. Can't wait to have more moisture in the air, on the ground & for our pretty flowers.

How is Spring in your area?
Hot & dry or warm & rainy?

It's been warm and cool and moderately rainy, just the perfect amount really. I guess you could say that here it's been a very normal spring!
I'm glad to hear you had rain. I truly is such a wonderful thing, water falling from the sky, revitalizing all of life. I hope there's much more to come for you.

We've had one of those 'four seasons in a day' type day that Scotland specialises in! We've had sun, rain, wind, cold, warmth, torrential showers, and hailstones. The evening has been calm and cool, thankfully. Amazing cloud formations all day though, with the weather being so changeable! Hope you get a better sleep tonight. X

We have luckily had a couple of rain storms here, as our grass was looking very dry and burnt.

It's been HOT here so far... wet & dry. I'd say average rainfall? But what do I know? lol!!

Thanks for stopping by Rivulet. Yes, we were very excited to finally have some relief from the hot & dry weather. Now it's cool but such a nicer way to sleep & work.

Penny, we often get 4 seasons in a day too but lately, it's been just 1 season, without any change. So nice to be back to normal again. Hoping for more rain now to get the forest fires under control.

That's great you've had some rain, Carla. Hope it all evens out in the end!

So glad you got some rain. It has been unseasonably cool and wet here. We got about 3 inches of rain in an hour yesterday, but we have had insane amounts of rain all May.

May is usually a pretty wet month here. Makes everything lush & bloom. This year has been so different but we're hopeful June will be better for moisture. Thanks for visiting Anne!
