Snowmageddon ....

Our snow, really sparse over the last decade, arrived early this year, and just seems to keep coming. We thought we were almost done and then bam! A new warning arrived on Thursday. We braced for a big storm and were thankful that it held off a bit but once it started, late on Friday, it really increased our snow volume. Our fire pit is almost completely buried, the kids little plastic house is snowed in and my precious garden shed is looking forlorn and cold. I'll have to sweep off the roof and the front porch so as it melts, it doesn't flood the inside. Poor shed!

We were thankful as well that though the snow was heavy in volume, it fell without a blizzard, without bone chilling temperatures and without a million car accidents and warnings to stay home. It was a cozy stay at home for us anyway so we were okay. Lovely and warm.

This afternoon, the sun came out and the melting from the roof began. Drip, drip all down our windows today. We shovelled and snowplowed and enjoyed the warmth of the rays. The trees cast shadows on the glittery snow ~ a favorite site for me out here. The rest of the week it will continue to warm up and by next weekend, we'll be well in to the plus side. Fingers crossed this is the last of the snow for us. Snowmageddon can just stay away now!

Is your Wintery weekend slowly turning around?
Is Spring on it's way this week in your region?

I'm glad you could stay home and be safe. Now we're all ready warmer weather and those first blooms. Almost all our snow is gone. Hurrah!

I can't wait to see your garden as your blooms grow. It will be a bit still before we'll see our flowers. Soon, soon! X Chy

Hi Meredith. I actually love how beautiful and "movie-like" it looks like. Today with all the sun, it's been amazing! The only part I don't like is when it gets too cold to go outside (not very often at all) and when I have to drive after a snow fall - thankfully very rare as I just stay home until it's better! Daffodils have been up several months. Now, tulips are trying to bloom. The ac is necessary in the house and the car. I am wearing just a thin blouse and sandals. If I wore shorts, I would be wearing those now. The robins are going crazy in the trees, along with lots of other birds. Spring is here. But, the blizzard of '93 came in April, I think with a food of snow in my yard. I live in Alabama, so the spring is always earlier here than in many areas. Your place looks beautiful in the snow.

We're in the Sierra-Nevada Mountains of Calif. YES, we know all about the most recent snows. The ski resort just up the mountain from us got 5 ft in 2 days, so you can guess how snowed in we were. From the Thurs you spoke of till yesterday, Sunday, it was shovel, snow blower going kind of a experience.
Glad your doing ok, as we are.
Ready for Spring?? we sure are !!

Wow, that's incredible Sierra Sue. I didn't realize it would cold enough there to get snow. I'm sure you'll be just as happy as we will be for Spring to arrive! X Chy
