About Me

Crock Pot Dinners.

One of the gifts we received as newlyweds
was a Crock Pot. At the time, we were
both working full time and it was a great
gift to come home after a long day at
work to a fully cooked meal. Even after
we started having children and I was home
for decades, we still used it a lot. It was
great to have time with my little ones
and as they got older. To not be standing
all day long in the kitchen was such a
bonus. Dance classes, music lessons,
football practice and art sessions were
our priority but feeding our family was
also important. Having time and good
meals was and continues to be just what
we need to manage this busy life.

So here we are 32, almost 33 years later.
We chatted one day that with the amount
of use of our Crock Pot and the age, it
was probably time to replace it, even
though we've not had any issues. But we
wouldn't want to take a big risk. That
very weekend we were in the Big City.
And guess what was on sale? Yup.
Great price, free small dipper pot and
now we have a new toy. Our first meal
was a roasted chicken. So good. Second
meal was a big pot of chili, perfect on a
snowy Sunday afternoon. Trying to figure
out what our next meal will be. I feel safer
now with a new Crock Pot and am very
thankful for such a very frugal amount.

Lacey Bath.

I'll take better pictures but wanted to do
a quick update on our idea of putting a
lace set of curtains, the same ones we
have hung all around the cottage, up
under the arch that is over our bath tub.
I need to figure out how to tie back the
panels but both of us love the softness
of the space now. And you can see the
sun rising behind the frosted glass on the
left side. This weekend, we did a big
purge of our walk in closet that is behind
our master bath. It feels like we have so
much more room now! I'm hanging more
pictures later and then I'll take better
shots to show. It's such a treat to have
a space that is bright, spacious and lacey.

Guest Room Update.

Slowly, piece by piece, we are
unpacking our art and decor to
hang throughout the house. It's
fun to uncover our packed treasures.

Bare wall in our guest room. I really
wanted to try and cover the switch plate.

So I hung this sweet find and
hung two vintage dresses on it.

Perfect height to cover up the plate
and display all at the same time.

A Tiny Bit of Spring.

This week was a bit tough. Many different things
to work through, energy sucking but necessary to
get them done. Snow has returned to our County,
creating cold, blustery days that are sunless and
uninspiring. Can't wait for the melting to return.
Dh did surprise me today, bringing home a tiny bit
of Spring! He remembered that I love the sweet
buds and the beautiful scent of Hyacinths. And
purple is a favorite color of mine, mixed with green
and natural tones of browns and ivories. Lovely!

Morning Visitor.

Our daily visits from our little deer family
usually happen around 4 in the afternoon,
except for the occasional morning visit.
Cleaning up our garden before Spring arrives!

Missing the Sea.

I'm missing the sea so much right now. Wishing
I could hop a plane and head straight to our tiny
little island on the coast. But deadlines loom,
many tasks are waiting and my to do list keeps
getting longer and longer every day. I'm working
through it so I can get to the sea as soon as I can.

February Reading.

I've got a bunch of books on order from
our local library but so far, just one has
come in. "Inside the Dream Palace" is
the history of the Chelsea in New York.
A great read and one that intrigues me
as our eldest daughter is named "Chelsea".
