Well Deserved.

We had a day off today but as is our habit, it wasn't a lazy day! We did sleep in a bit but with our good weather, after a few loads of laundry, a quick tidy of our walk in closet, scrubbing the bathroom, emptying the dishwasher and making a few calls and sending a few emails, we tackled taking down the outside Halloween decorations, packing up the indoor decorations and tucking them back in our storage room downstairs that holds all our seasonal decor. Our mantel is empty, we've figured out where the tree will go, and have plans to get the outside decorated well before the snow falls. Dh had to go pick up dd from school, so I ended up staying outside to move some of the extra sand we have from the brick project ~ I filled three big bins and we'll store two but one will sit by our garage so we have some sand for icy days. I think we can easily fill another two to four bins, or we may just spread the rest on top of the gravel for extra traction over the Winter. I unloaded one pallet of bricks on to the pallet in the corner where we've tucked the remaining bricks to create the walkway in the Spring. If we have time, we could build the walk on Sunday but I think our path is fine for Winter and it can wait. It feels great to get these last tasks done. The only other think on our list is to tidy the garage now that we've brought the snowblower over from the new shed and the shovels. I've got some donations sitting to take to the charity shop, a bag of bottles to the depot, and some cardboard for recycling. Once we get those sorted, then we can start parking inside for the Winter. We use the garage so much during the Spring, Summer and Fall for projects but those are done for now, and the real purpose, a warm place for our car, becomes the priority. I'm very thankful for this space to keep our car from the wind, the ice and the snow that we get all Winter. 

I'm sure you're asking why I have a pic of our dinner tonight. Well, after a day of tasks, we didn't have lunch and so a treat, well deserved for all the hard work. I sometimes work harder when I know a yummy treat is in the works!
