Capturing: Day 7.

Even in the light of day, our Christmas
Tree is so festive and bright. Love it so!

Capturing: Day 6.

I know I should write about how much
I love Christmas shopping. But today,
I'm sharing what grocery shopping is
like in the time of Covid. I so hate it!

We make our list. We pack up our masks
and hand sanitizer. Some stores we can
bring in bags and others we can't. We
drive into town to the store, limiting our
exposure as much as possible. We shop
fast, grabbing what we need and with no
lingering. We chat quickly with the cashier
and then dash out. My heart pounds the
whole time. At home, we use wipes to
clean the items, after we've washed our
hands and washed down the island. We
then wash our hands again and the island
after we've put the items away. The photo
above is the items we can take out of their
boxes. Lots of recycling but at least it's
all done. Then we sit down and take a rest!

Christmas shopping this year has been all
online, with a few small purchases in person.
We are shopping local but taking advantage
of curb side pick up or at home delivery. I
am so thankful for these options. But do
look forward to next year when we can do
in person again, with sweet music and time
to chat with clerks. It's the little things like
this that I miss but I'm happy we're home!
No where else we'd rather be, at least for now.

Capturing: Day 5.

We have had above normal temperatures
the last few weeks. Our snow has been
melting away and we have had to move
our "fill the rink day" because if we put
water in it now, it would not freeze and
likely would evaporate. Today we got
up to plus 6. Tomorrow it will be even
warmer! Loving this warm weather!!

Capturing: Day 4.

For the Day 4 Challenge, the word was
"Joyous" and this is what I felt last night
when I was exhausted and didn't want to
move at all from my cozy spot. Moments
like these bring me joy. Being content. Is
there anything better? Not in my opinion!

Capturing: Day 3.

"Red" was the challenge for Day 3.
I have never been a fan of this color.
I'll share that story one day but for now,
we have NO red in our cottage during
the season. I know it's common but
you won't find it in our sweet home.

We were gifted this wreath from my
mom and it lights up. But it had red
berries on it, so I had to take matters
into my own hands and switch them out.

There, all better. Some gold berries from
the dollar store, sweet little gold bows
and a lovely larger ribbon to tie it all
together. I love it now and there's no red!

Do you have lots of red in your home at Christmas?

Capturing: Day 2.

The challenge for Day 2 was "Favorite Holiday
Movie" and I chose 2. "It's a Wonderful Life" is
a must every year and we often watch it on the
Eve of Christmas. Such a great classic movie!

The other that we often watch more than once over
the season is "The Homecoming" which is how the
tv show "The Walton's" was premiered. We love
the story and it's sweetness with love and hope.

Do you have a favorite holiday movie? Or 2?

Capturing: Day 1.

For the first day of the Capturing December,
the challenge is "Your View Today." And it
was a frosty view at first today. We're in the
middle of a bit of a "heat wave" but not in
the mornings. I do think by next week that
our snow will be all melted away. Then the
cold will arrive for January. For now, we'll
enjoy the warmth and the pretty landscape.

I wasn't sure I could find one but here it
is ~ another challenge to follow along with!
