Shadows.

A dear friend spent the day with me
yesterday and we had such a good
time. While I waited for her to
arrive, I captured these shadow shots.

Looks like such a tall house when
the shadows are cast on the ground.

Morning Lightscapes.

The sun rising and creating lightscapes.

Peaceful and calm, before a busy day.

Sleeping Buddies.

Our eldest son arrived on Tuesday night
from the West Coast to visit with all of us
for a full week. We're so excited to have
him here but our grandson is ecstatic. So
much so that they even had to have a true
"sleepover" as directed by our little guy.
Next week, the big guy heads home by plane.
And the tears will be real from all of us.

A Goal Achieved.

One of my goals was to reach 100 posts
by the 4th month of the year .... nailed it!

I actually completed 100 posts in just
over 100 days ~ 102 to be exact. As a
goal oriented person, and not the most
consistent writer, this feels really great.

Do you have any blogging or writing goals?
Or do you write when it feels right to do so?

A Big Project.

For quite a while, I've been scouring boot
sales, our local Antique Mall and thrift stores.

Searching, searching, searching for a decent
window frame for a project in my head.

We finally scored one for a very affordable $20.
And even though one of the panes is broken,
it's just perfect for what I want to do. Lots of
work to get it in to the condition it needs to be.

Taking out the panes of glass so I can paint
the frame has been quite a challenge. So far,
I haven't broken anything or cut up my fingers.
Tedious work but in time, I hope it looks like this:

Wouldn't this be a sweet project to finish?
I may leave 2 of the panes of glass in.
But the chicken wire is so vintage for
what I want to use this frame for. Lovely.

Sweet Stationary.

I love this line of stationary that I
stumbled across at HomeSense.

It's called Lily McGee and in addition
to these lovely little note pads, I also
picked up some thank you cards and
blank note cards for letters. Sweet!

Do you collect stationary?
If so, what do you look for in style or brand?

Worth the Wait.

After living in our home for over
8 months, we finally have light in
our little hall that is between our linen
closet and our master bedroom.

It was a long wait but so worth it.
Now we have to tackle hanging
up the pictures that will line our
walls. Can't wait for the next step.

Isn't it an amazing light?
